As I frequently use my tablet during choir performances, it's regularly needed to keep the tablet under the arm, facing the audience, like you'd do with an old-skool folder containing scores. This is common when the choir changes position (in the middle of a performance, or when it enters the stage e.g.). 

During such events, all kinds of "disasters" can (and do) happen - depending on which screen is active, the ordering in set lists can be modified, or scores will advance/go back to random pages because of accidental interactions. 

If there were a simple way to disable the majority interaction during such events and quickly re-enable it afterwards that'd take away a lot of friction on-stage. Maybe this is possible already, if so - please let me know.

You could activate 'performance mode' which will limit changes.
De/activate it by pressing the icon representing a screen with a lock in it, at the bottom right of any library screen.

You could alternatively log out of your tablet before you start walking around (compare that to closing the old skool folder before you moved around)

You could enable performance mode, go to Settings->Touch & Pedal Settings->Touch Actions, disable tapping to turn pages and only use swiping. If you then have the tablet under your arm while viewing a score, no page changes should occur, the overlay won't be accessible, and if you don't have any touch actions assigned and the quick action box is disabled, then it shouldn't be possible to trigger anything. To enable performance mode, tap the lock icon in the floating toolbar at the bottom right corner of the library screen.
