This is not iPad specific (it happens on my Chromebook as well), but since I want to print from my iPad I'm posting it here ...

I have a two-page piece of music in which I've cropped both pages.  The first page is "short" -- meaning that there's content on only about the top half of the page.  I crop it short (to contain only that content) because I use the vertical scrolling feature.  I think this has been working well, but this time ...

The first (shortened) page prints landscape -- even though I have the mode set to portrait.  The second page (full size) prints in portrait mode.

I'm pretty sure that I've done this to myself ...  I have a recollection that in order to get all of a page on the screen when I was editing it (because often the bottom margin of a cropped page is very narrow) I changed some setting, but I can't remember what that setting was. 

What have I done, and how can I get the two pages to print in portrait mode?

An update on this -- after some additional experimentation ...

No matter what I do, if I crop the first page to the area with the content in it (so cropping to approximately the top half of the page), Mobilesheets prints it only in landscape.  Another thing that's odd about this is that my printer interface -- when it shows the snapshot of the pages to be printed -- show both pages in portrait orientation.  But the first page still comes out landscape.  And the original PDF is printed with both pages in portrait mode even though the first one is crowding the page edges.

If I "lengthen" that page by less aggressive (vertical) cropping to, say, the top 3/4 of the page, it then prints in portrait.  This SEEMS to be something that the Mobilesheets printing implementation is doing (???).  It's almost as though it's looking at the aspect ratio of the cropped page and deciding it should be printed as landscape.  I originally thought the problem might be with my cropping the page too aggressively so that the printable area was pushed out into the margins, but that doesn't seem to be the problem -- so far as I can see.  Here's the original PDF of the piece:

Again, my goal here is to crop the pages so that using vertical scrolling will present it as a continuous piece -- without a large blank area between what is (in the PDF) p. 1 and p. 2.  I've not had any problems doing this previously.
