Full Version: Request: Additional staff "stamp"

Hi Mike,

The piano staff in the annotations is a nice option. I'd like to suggest/request that you can adjust that with an option to choose just a single staff (treble or bass) and equally important to have a translucency for it similar to the highlighter so you can cover up existing staffs and write notes in it.

And additionally please provide a single measure staff (adjustable in size of course) with the same feature to cover up and annotate single measures in the same way.

Thanks.
I would also like to have the option of a single staff ?
Adding a single staff and a few other dynamic tools is certainly on the list of things to do.

Thanks,
Mike

I'll add my support for a single staff stamp too...
Hi Mike,

do you plan to include the suggested  single measure and the (non-)transparency as well?
It's not really designed to have a solid background color, but if users want that, it's something I can look into (it will just render in two stages, first a big white rectangle, and then the staff parts which are rendered from multiple SVG files).\

Yes, as part of supporting multiple different dynamic tools, I can look into having just a single measure.

Mike
Splendid.

The "automatic cover" and a single measure would very much simplify editing and adding notes for existing measures/staffs which have already content.

I would use a transparent version to annotate above the staff (eg: a written out ornament, or a cue from another instrument), and a version with a solid white background to overlay a bar or section.
Yes, that's what the current piano staff is (or only can be used) for. Stamping it at a white background and fill it with new notes. Same will be with single staffs.

The "solid measure" I meant exactly for what you said. Covering up existing and filling it with the changes. Actually I would need and use this one much more than the staffs.
Many users asked for this feature years ago on this forum Forum link

I primarily use MobileSheets with ChordPro (ChoPro) files. I often add handwritten annotations using my S Pen, and that works very well. One feature I would really appreciate is the ability to insert short musical intros or small snippets of standard notation directly into a ChordPro file, without having to convert the song to a static PDF.
MobileSheets has included the piano staff support for many years, but in my case I only need a treble clef staff. The current notation is much larger than necessary and tends to overlap with the song lyrics, which limits its usefulness. A smaller, treble-clef-only notation option would be extremely helpful.

A more convenient way is suggested in the forum link above. By implementing the {Image} official ChoPro directive, the enduser can create the score in thirdparty app and include it as a picture in the song.

Edit 14:45: By testing it again, I see it finaly works with the ChoPro Directive in Android,  Version: 3.9.41 (build 588)
Did you try integrating ABC sections into your ChordPro files? https://www.chordpro.org/beta/directives-env_abc/
It works great (now), the standard notation can be transposed in MobileSheets on the fly and you can edit small corrections directly in the MobileSheets text editor. (Whereas for creating the ABC snippets and bigger changes I'd recommend using a dedicated ABC editor).
