I bought the TCLNXTPAPER14 and have put 89 piano pieces on MobileSheets and have organized set lists.  I have a PageFlip and can bluetooth page turning.  I play piano gratis at nursing homes/memory care units, homeless centers, senior centers and anywhere they will let me. I have not been able to figure out how to  activate or use the T pen (Stylus).  I try to write with it and nothing happens.  I have it attached to the magnetic side of the tablet.  I press the button and the blue light goes on, but I can't get the thing to write.  Instructions that came with the tablet haven't helped me.  TCL support hasn't been much help either. Do I have to activate it to the tablet then somehow connect it to MobileSheets?  As I am older, technology has been difficult for me. In fact I am not sure how this forum thingy works.  Is there anyone out there that has a TCLNXTPAPER 14 that can tell me how to use that T pen?
I have the same tablet and my Pen worked out of the box. However, I sometimes miss to press the pen's button to activate it. But as you say, the blue LED is on, it should be on. Test it without MobileSheets first. Mine can start apps, when touching the icon or use an app like Google notes to test pen writing. If that's not working of cause it doesn't work in MobileSheets neither. If that doesn't work. Return the pen and get a replacement.
I am only using the TCL tablet for music and need it to write notations on the score.  I can start apps by touching the icons.  But when I am in MobileSheets and staring at the notes it will not write.  Is there something in MobileSheets I was suppose to do?  I was so frustrated with the pen not working ever on MobileSheets that I got TCL to send me a replacement pen so the pen I currently so brand new.

I did just now download Google Notes and the pen appears to work there.  It just doesn't work on my music scores.
Can you edit with your fingers (or do you have the common "problem" trying to edit while performance mode is on?)

I simply open MobileSheets; go to my set list; click on one of my songs and play.  If I don't like a note or if the score is actually wrong (like a note is sharp when it's suppose to be natural) I need to edit it to my satisfaction.  I am not sure what you mean by "performance mode".
Performance mode is something you can enable when doing performances; it disables certain actions, one of which is annotating!
Lots of people get caught out with this.

Tap bottom right corner of the screen (default position for this action) and look at the centre icon (a padlock in a square). If it is orange or otherwise highlighted then performance mode is enabled (tap it to disable).

BRX was asking you to try editing with your fingers to see whether you had it enabled. Also, if you had been able to edit with your fingers, this would have shown that the problem was with the pen.

If this icon is orange performance mode is on.
Thanks for the information on the performance mode.  Yes the icon (padlock in the square; I suppose to know that was performance mode?) was orange and I clicked it off.  Like many things on these devices there are icons I have no idea what they are or do.  I was wondering what that pop up was all about (what does the funnel or the vertical rectangle do?).  I have been now able to write on my scores though I need some practice.  It seems all sorts of things pop when I try to write that distract me.  I figured out how to erase.  At this moment I am happy I can at least write/erase with the pen.

Well, MS is a deceivingly easy to use app and for most of it usable right "out of the box" and self explanatory.

But it *is*a complex app with *lots* of features so it's always worth it to check out the FAQ, the manual and the tutorials regardless if you have a problem or you want to know more abot the possibilities within the app.

Thanks for the links for the faq/manual/tutorials.  I wish I had known about them sooner.
