Auto MS listen and Connect

Hi,

I'd like to request that mobilesheets change its behavior such that it is always listening for a connection from the companion (this is easy to do with a listen and notify model, see here: https://share.google/aimode/TiBaotVP0DkQDAsdY ). Now you have to go to MS and use the "Connect to Companion" command and then go to the companion and complete the connection (which often doesn't work and the process has to be repeated multiple times, often resetting MS and possible rebooting the Chromebook).

I think none of this is necessary and could be greatly simplified by have MS have a background listen always pending. When a connect request comes in from the companion, a connection can be made. When the companion disconnects, MS goes back to regular, disconnected mode and starts another background listen.

I use MS on one room and run companion in a different room. This constant walking back and forth to connect (especially when it fails) is disruptive.

Thanks for your consideration.

Church Choir .. Mobilesheets Thoughts

I have been using MobileSheets for over a year and have some people in my group also using mobile sheets. I've digitized a lot of our music but everyone largely maintains their own instance of MobileSheets (creating set lists, determining what music they want to import, etc) and pull down music from a shared google drive (or import their own) as needed.

I have another group that will be having a director change in about two months ... His group has 8 tablets currently and he was simply sharing a dropbox folder and everyone in the group opens a shared PDF he creates of all the music for the service (no mobilesheets or other sheet music app).

If we load MobileSheets on each of these tablets and hand it over to the new music director, I'm wanting to understand the easiest way to maintain this. For me, using the companion app to enter set lists for the next few weeks is easy but I haven't gone the next step and distributing this to other devices. Is there options for a primary device/location (dropbox, google drive, etc) and the other devices will simply sync updated music/set lists/etc the choir members can simply open MobileSheets and have the latest set lists available?

Trying to figure out if this is a good solution .. I know the new director is a bit old school, so trying to come up with a solution that is easy on him and still lets the teens feel like they are not "going backwards" by having to deal with paper vs the tablets they have been using for years (he has already stated wanting to stay with paper which I know the teens will see as a regression).

Audio Player using Backing Tracks

Audio Player using Backing Tracks

Hey everyone, I don't know if I'm the only one who uses MSpro for multiple backing tracks, but it's really handy. I used to use a looper for this, but it's much easier to work with MSpro's built-in audio player because you can use the right tracks for each song you open, and you only need the looper for looping, not for playing backing tracks.
I've created short, simple drum loops for each of my songs at the right tempo (bps) and style (rock, pop, blues, etc.) and play them back as MP3s or WAV files using MSpro's built-in audio player. Even though you can't add fills, it works perfectly. You can also play in short sequences like riffs or samples, which really enhances the performance. I control the tracks with footswitches using an iRig BlueTurn (2 switches) or an AirTurn Quad 500 (4 switches). I had some latency issues at first, but I've mostly resolved them. I connect the tablet (Android) directly to the mixer via the headphone output, resulting in only one Bluetooth connection from the tablet to the iRig or AirTurn and very low latency. The second switch allows you to control the metronome and optionally create a simple beat with kick and hi-hat. With the four switches, you can even integrate entire sections like verse or chorus as guitar accompaniment in MP3 or WAV format, allowing you to play solos over them. This significantly enhances the overall experience.
Now I'm trying to work with multiple tracks like intro, verse, chorus 1, chorus 2, etc. However, I've noticed that short gaps occur when switching tracks because the app needs time to load each one. This unfortunately renders my idea unusable.
Mike from Zubersoft suggests setting the crossfade duration to zero. However, he's hesitant to program this because he's unsure if it might introduce other problems. He thinks I'm probably the only one who needs this option and that I should ask in the forum if more people are having the same problem. I think then he might give it a try.
So my question is: Has anyone here in the forum tried this before, or does anyone know of another solution to the problem? Thanks in advance and best regards to all MSpro fans!
