Copying and pasting the grid from View/Extract Backup omits the values in the Title field. All the other fields appear to be treated correctly.
Steps to reproduce:

File | View/Extract Backup

Select a backup file

Click on the first line of the display grid

Type control-A and control-C to copy the contents of the whole grid

Go to another application (e.g. a text editor or spreadsheet)

Type control-V to insert the copied data
All the title fields only contain two quotation marks with nothing between them despite all the songs having titles and these being displayed in the on-screen grid.
We are entering an amazing era of hardware and, of course, it is available only on Windows 11 laptops using the latest Intel processors and Windows 11.

For a professional musician or for any musician, any of these two options is a dream come true!!! These two options do not come cheap but, for a professional musician, they could even record them as tax-deductible because it is a tool for their work.

I hope that MobileSheets will be able to work perfectly fine with each of these two hardware options, especially when you have two contiguous pages next to each other. I assume you should even be able to use the Companion option of MobileSheets instead of the Windows 11 app option of MobileSheets.
The future for musicians is bright, thanks to this new hardware and MobileSheets!

Just a few questions if you do not mind:
---1) Does MobileSheets have support for Windows pens to use either on Windows 11 tablets, or on the Windows 11 desktop that has a monitor that accepts pens?
She says:
---------------
---The app she uses is forScore which is the most used app and she has all her scores on this app. The great thing is that you can download the pdfs and import the pdfs into the app. You can also scan the pdfs and import your scans into the app. Therefore, basically you can take any score and digitalize it and then put it on the app. The great advantages of this app are 1) that it is very easy to use; 2) you can mark your score as much as you like and then erase if needed. So you are very flexible with your markings as well if you want to change fingerings; if you want to change phrasings; or if you are playing with different chamber music partners, you can change the interpretations from time to time. So this is very helpful. This app also has an inbuilt metronome, you can use this metronome. It even has pitch if you are a string player or a wind player and you are interested in checking the pitch.
Many thanks for your feedback on these questions.

My apologies for these questions that should be trivial for any user of MobileSheets, as I am new to MobileSheets so these questions are not trivial to me.

I've been using MobileSheets since 2012, but I manage my database entirely on my tablet. As such, I'm not familiar with how the companion program works.

...but earlier today I tried to help a friend who just bought a new tablet and is using MobileSheets for the first time. After helping her through the settings on the tablet, the next step was for her to import some PDF files.

Sadly that didn't go the way I expected. She had no problem installing MobileSheets Companion on her Windows 10 PC, and she was able to connect the tablet to it. But when she tried to import files, the dialog box was too large to fit on her monitor all at once, and in particular both the top and bottom of the window were off the edges of her screen.

...so she had no difficulty choosing the files she wanted to import, or in specifying the collection she wanted to add them to, but the Save button wasn't visible, and she wasn't able to move or resize the window to make it visible.

I understand that this pretty much has to be a problem with Windows rather than anything wrong with MobileSheets, but I don't use Windows myself and I wasn't able to help her. Can anyone suggest what I should advise her to do?

Thanks,

Hi, since I updated to Companion 4.1.7 I'm having trouble connecting with my ipad and android.

Steps I have taken:
On both devices I have made sure to choose Private Wi-Fi Address Fixed, so the last three digits of each device don't changed or get reassigned, just to keep things consistent.
Both are on my home network and confirmed that all are on 192.168.1 ...
I have restarted the router. I am not on any kind of mesh system.

I had no trouble connecting either device on the previous version of Companion.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled Companion, then tried reinstalling again as "Administrator."
I have enabled diagnostic logging, if that helps. I don't know what to do with it yet.

Nothing has made a difference. I have tried connecting each device one at a time repeatedly and have not gotten connected with either of them. (I was successfully using Companion recently, but I cannot remember if that was before or after I updated the app, or if this problem just started.)

Manual connection:
After choosing Connect to Companion on the tablet (or ipad) and starting Companion on the PC:

The messages on the tablet or ipad say:
Sending out broadcast identifier ...
Waiting for user to establish connection ...
Connection from PC accepted, sending acknowledgement.
MSCompanion is running version 40107. This is compatible.
Sending database file to PC.
... successfully sent for file: (location string .db)

On the PC:
Connecting to 192.168.1.(three digits of device)
with a long dark blue bar underneath and it's frozen. It never proceeds to load the songs.
It continues to show the lower box that says: Tap the "Connect to Companion" ...

If I click on the Connection tab, I can press "Disconnect" which is black, so it thinks it's connected?
If I click on "Disconnect" the message in the top box changes to "Not Connected to Tablet" with a lighter blue line underneath. And the lower box continues to say: Tap the "Connect to Companion" ...

The only other item showing under the Connection tab is "Manual WiFi Connect" which is grayed out, so it still thinks it's connected.

On the tablet (or ipad) "Connected to PC..." continues to show until I press the DISCONNECT button to go back to the library.

If I choose Automatically connect to devices under settings:
With Companion open, as soon as I choose Connect to Companion on either device,
the Companion immediately says "Connecting to Rona's Android" (or "ipad (ios)" if I'm connecting it) with the same dark blue bar. So it's instantly recognizing both devices, but it never actually loads the songs.

How should I access the diagnostic logging?

MobileSheets Companion on Linux - Install Fails

Hi all, I just started using MobileSheets, and want to install the Companion app on Linux (Ubuntu Studio 25.10), but there appear to be several unsatisfied dependencies which are preventing install. Specifically, several versions of "libicu" are reported as "uninstallable".

From suggestions I've found I've tried 'sudo apt install' and 'sudo dpkg -i'. I've tried running directly from the download directory (which is on a separate internal drive, mounted persistently) and from root with the proper directory in the command path. What am I missing? How do I get these dependencies satisfied? And why is the system "selecting 'mobilesheets' instead of './MobileSheetsCompanion.deb'?"

I usually prefer installing from a package manager (Ubuntu Studio's default 'Discover' and also 'Synaptic'), but can't find MobileSheets Companion. I can still dual-boot Windows 10, but I'm trying to completely wean myself off Windows.

Hello,

I am currently editing a lot of songs in the companion app and I found a bug, that is quite inconvenient:
When opening a sheet edit dialog, the content of the title field is displayed as selected, but it is not possible to just start typing to override the title. It is also not possible to copy (Ctrl + c) or cut (Ctrl+x) out the content. To be able to edit the title, it is always necessary to reselect the title with the mouse again, which prevents edits from the keyboard only.

Furthermore I noticed a possible improvement: It would be even faster, if the dialog would be closed if you press Ctrl+s, instead of clicking the safe button by mouse.

I know that these are only minor topics, but they might be easy to implement and would improve the usability of the companion app a lot.

Best regards,
Daniel

during the update (Win10), the Mobilesheets installation program deleted my current installation. The installation of the new version fails because the file “AbcScripter.dll” cannot be found in “MobileSheets.cab”.
Now I can neither run the old version nor install the new one.
