I just updated my Pixel Slates to version 145.0.7632.154 (Official Build) and discovered that Pixel Slates (followers) cannot find and connect to leader (another Pixel Slate) via Bluetooth. Mobilesheets version is 3.9.33 (build 576).

I restarted multiple times after the update.
Eventually I deleted previous connections in the ChromeOS and paired tablets again.
To connect them via new pairing again worked BUT after another restart they can't see/find leader in "Manage Device Connections" modal window.

To delete paired connections in the OS and then go through pairing every time is painful.

It looks like Google changed something because everything was working fine in ChromeOS 144 (apart from slow connecting Airturn page turner as I mentioned before recently).

When I started with Pixel Slates in 2019 the leader (that time Master) discovery took some time (between 30sec to a minute). Later on (two three years ago) it changed to nearly instant Leader discovery.
Now followers can't find Leader at all unfortunately.

Hope it could be resolved.

I'm using MS app with Google's Pixel Slate and Airturn's Duo BT-500 which is in Direct mode 1.
Airturn is not paired/saved in OS Bluetooth settings (via mode 2).
Problem is that previously connected Airturn does not connect automatically after the boot via Airturn's Direct Mode.

So I've to go to the settings/Touch & Pedal Settings/Airturn Direct Mode where Airturn Support switch is on (from previous connection).
In section "ADDED TO APP" there's Airturn Connecting and in section ADD AIRDIRECT AIRTURN there's "DUO500 v3.0.11 221D" with the exclamation mark beside.
After clicking on the exclamation mark there's pop-up "Connection problem" where I confirm to RECONNECT.
This would not resolve the problem and it would still show "Connecting" with the exclamation mark.
Even after several attempts clicking on exclamation mark and confirming RECONNECT pedal would not connect.
The only solution is to switch off and on Airturn Support button/toggle. Then the pedal will connect and work but there's still exclamation mark.
After clicking the exclamation mark both sections "ADDED TO APP" and "DUO500 v3.0.11 221D" will state Connected.
I see the behaviour that if the Direct Mode is off then I power on the pedal and then I switch on Direct Mode pedal gets connected much faster.

Connection is solid BUT if I turn off the pedal and want to reconnect it again sometimes there's no way to get working connection again even after all the steps stated above and I've to restart the tablet. Restarting the app only is not resolving the problem.

I think this is linked to when Airturn Direct Mode is on and I turn off the pedal and Bluetooth in ChromeOS settings after which the MS app would show pop-up "Mobilesheets wants to turn on Bluetooth" Deny/Allow.
When I click Deny and the Direct Mode is on that's where real problems start.

It would be really helpful to have Airturn's Direct Mode on/off switch/toggle on top of the main library screen. Or an icon at the bottom right corner of the library screen in the floating toolbar.

Product: Google Pixel Tablet (11")

This is a little difficult as to describe, so please forgive any rambling in an attempt to depict accurate imagery.

When viewing my sheet music in the portrait mode/orientation, it's just ever-so-slightly zoomed in. I am able to drag the image by about a centimeter, but when I center the display, it cuts off the edges of the staves. This makes it nearly impossible to ensure that I keep the key signature in sight while also making sure I see every note of the last measure of every system. Even though it's slight, it's still frustrating.

When I press the center of the screen to activate the menu along the top/bottom of the screen, the music is the perfect size and everything is within sight. Once I press the center of the screen to hide the menu, it's back to the infuriating proportions.

I have experimented with all of the options in the "Page Scaling Mode", with "Fit to Screen" being the best option, obviously. I have tried cropping it instead of using the auto-crop feature, but the issue occured again. I have viewed the music in landscape mode, but while the music is in full view, this is not a feasible option for me. I am a double bass player, so I cannot have the music this small when I already have to sit several feet away from my stand.

Is there any official fix for this? I feel like I've exhausted all in-app options, but I could have easily missed something. I'm not very tech savvy.

I'm using Pixel Slates connecting via Bluetooth for a long time. Tablets are always very close to each other (within 1 metre).
Just few months ago the connection behaviour changed.

Before: to establish master-follower connection it required bit of patience. It took few seconds, sometimes two or three taps on "Join Group" button. It wasn't instant BUT connection was rock solid! No disconnections.

Now: Connection is instant (nice), no waiting at all, one click only. BUT followers are occasionally disconnecting (quickly connecting again) AND page turns are much slower!
That creates a problem when master turns the page at the moment during disconnection it will not turn page for disconnected follower.

Just to point out that this is happening also when tablets are in "clean" environment with no other active Bluetooth devices around.

Anybody with similar Bluetooth/ChromeOS experience?

Perhaps Google changed Bluetooth behaviour when the Android layer in ChromeOS was upgraded from 11 to Android 13?

Hi,
I'm running v3.8.43 (android app) on ChromeOS. Only just started using it and it's working well. However I'm having problems with the audio component of the metronome.

When I have the metronome set to Visual Only the metronome works fine. The coloured bars count time at the top of the screen, and the Measure/ Beat counters in the metronome screen count up as expected.

But if I have the metronome set to Audio Only or Audio and Visual, when I press the Start Metronome button, the button text changes to "Stop Metronome" but nothing else happens. No coloured bars, and the Measure/Beat counters stay fixed at 1 and 1. It as if the metronome has hung trying to do the first beat. The rest of the app continues to work as normal.

I have confirmed the volume is on and the speakers are working in another app, although the behaviour of the app makes me think its a Mobilesheets issue with the metronome.

Any ideas?

I've only been using MobileSheets for a few days, but things are going well. I've created a library of pieces and am using this to practice playing, using my Chromebook (an Acer 513). And I've also been looking through, and experimenting with various settings.

I can't find where MobileSheets has stashed my files. Scouring previous postings hasn't resulted in enlightenment, although it did result in installing the Files by Google app -- which unfortunately can't seem to see where the files in my MobileSheets library are stashed.

Originally I started by letting MobileSheets manage my files. But, using the standard Chromebook Files browser I couldn't see them anywhere. At that point I tried to change over to "Set the MobileSheets Storage Location", the interface didn't present me with the ability to choose a directory, but allowed me to select /storage/emulated .../com.zubersoft.mobileshetspro/files and click "OK".

Using the Google Files app to look at Internal storage/Android/data shows that there's nothing there.

I'm pretty sure that I made some missteps in all this fumbling about, but I'm thinking that I should be able to see the files SOMEWHERE (?) -- unless (somehow?) MobileSheets is (for some reason, despite appearances) using the files that are in the original directory from which they were imported?
Any enlightenment on this will be appreciated. Otherwise, everything seems to be working splendidly.

Cannot Sync my ChromeOS Tablet to OneDrive

This one has me really frustrated, so I hope someone can help.

First, a little background:

I use Sync Library with several devices, using cloud storage (the one I use is OneDrive) to store the latest updates and then download from the cloud to each device. My primary devices are my Windows laptop and a Google Pixel Slate.

I own two Slate tablets, a less powerful one (Slate 1) that I started with and a more powerful one (Slate 2) that I upgraded to later. I have been using Slate 2 exclusively for several months. I wanted to do some comparison testing, though, so I charged up Slate 1 and started up MobileSheets, then tried to download the latest data from OneDrive. I have been using OneDrive since the beginning on Slate 2 with no problems, but on Slate 1 (the same device, just with a less powerful processor) it won't work. (I wish I could remember if I had OneDrive syncing successfully on this tablet previously, but I may have just been syncing between devices at the time.)

Here's the procedure I'm following:

1. I set up Sync Library to sync to a cloud folder, update device, and always use data from folder.
2. I click on the folder next to "Select a folder to merge to" and select OneDrive from the list.
3. At the Microsoft sign-in prompt, I enter my Microsoft email address and tap Next.
4. Now I get something I haven't seen before. I get a prompt that says "Are you trying to sign in to MobileSheets for Android? Only continue if you downloaded the app from a store or website that you trust. I tap Continue.

Now one of two or three things happens:

1. I get a message saying "Connection Failed. com.microsoft.identity.client.exception.MsalClientException: Failed to generate key pair".
2. It just takes me back to the sync setup screen with the title Folder Sync Activity and prompting me again to select a folder to merge to.
3. I'm pretty sure that I was getting a different error yesterday, but unfortunately, I didn't write it down and have forgotten what the error message.

Microsoft gave me the option of logging in using my associated GitHub account, but I've searched and searched, trying to figure out how to associate the email address, with no success.
I was originally thinking a Samsung S9 Ultra tablet at 14 inches but then realised a Chromebook would be bigger and cheaper.

The cheap ones do not seem to have touch screen. I'm just wondering how important a touchscreen is to have?

We do not really make annotations on our sheet music so that is not very important to us.
I'm thinking about zooming/cropping etc.

Hi
I recently got a 14" chromebook (Acer Chromebook Spin CP514-1H). I'm looking for a sturdy stand. That i place on ground and will come up over the height of the synth. My current one is for a tablet and the chromebook tends to slide down and slip through it. The chromebook is thicker than a tablet and heavier! My current one just grips it on the sides rather than the bottom too.
Anybody using a stand?

I’ve used mobile sheets for quite a while now.
I have the android version. Kindle fire version and just recently the Windows app version (I’m not talking about the free companion app used for storing library etc, I’m talking about running the actual app on windows, purchased from the window store for U.K. £10.41)
I’ve given my android tablet to my elderly mum as her music group were sending music just before rehearsals with no time to print out first. My kindle fire is a bit small for gigging and teaching
I opted to get a shop returned ASUS flip CX5 (CX5500 FEA) for £380 from John Lewis usual price £499. The ASUS is a chrome book with a huge 15” screen but there was a problem with the fan so it had to be returned and I’m considering a full price model when I’ve saved a bit more. Just can’t afford it quite yet. Mobile sheets worked brilliantly in tablet mode on the CX5500 just ensure you fold back keyboard entirely to get it to work. NB in display settings (Setting cog/Display Settings/Page Alignment) set it to either Top or Centre otherwise it stretches your music too long down page.

I’ve found an excellent solution IMO to help me now keep using Mobile Sheets.
As I mentioned I’ve purchased the windows version of mobile sheets.

I have an old windows 10 laptop without touch screen on which I’ve installed the Windows Mobile Sheets app.
Easiest way to import whole library of music from another device running Mobile Sheets is not by pressing IMPORT.
Back your library up to One Drive or Google Drive from your other device (it will be saved as .msg file (write down filename)
On your Windows laptop Settings/Backup and Restore/Restore Library from BackUp (select the file you wrote down in One Drive or Google Drive )Confirm Library Restore and the library will restore.
Now’s the fun bit… you’re going to flip your whole screen into portrait mode and put your computer on its side like a book to read the music. Make sure you’ve got a sturdy music stand to hold the laptop when you use it.
1.Minimise mobile sheets
2. Right Click with your mouse/touchpad anywhere empty on computer screen and it will bring up a box with options : View, sort by, refresh, Share, View online, manage one drive back up et cetera. Second up from bottom should be DISPLAY SETTINGS.
3. Left Click on Display Settings. Under scale and layout you will see display orientation. Change this from landscape to PORTRAIT
And then select keep these display settings (it’s the same quick easy process to change back to landscape.
4. Fully open Mobile Sheets and use touchpad /mouse to pick the piece of music. Use the now up or down arrows on your keyboard to turn the pages. I’ve bought a Bluetooth page turner pedal from eBay for £4.67 (Page Turner Bluetooth Page Turner Black Bluetooth Performances Compatible) and it works great .
5. No I can’t annotate the music on my windows laptop because it’s not a touch screen but I can do this on my cheap old Amazon Fire and import them onto my Old Windows Laptop. I do every kind of classical musician gigging and teaching . Playing large instrument and now can leave just in case pilot case of music in car and just carry laptop for gigs. I also teach instruments in schools where pupils often forget their music books. I simply scan in their music to pdf on my phone and save to Music sheets for days they’ve forgotten it.
I know this info is on mobile sheets in various discussions but wanted to highlight the cheaper/ recycling or old equipment options to use it .
There is a free mobile sheets WINDOWS app version you can use for a couple of weeks to see if it works for you.
I hope this helps someone and keeps some laptops out of landfill.
