Fade Out Touch Action /Button

I perform Cello Covers with backing tracks. Some times some songs are long and repetitive. And I would've love to have the option to tap on the screen on some point and Fade out the Track.
I know that I can trim a track, but trim is rough. It has no fade out.
So, i suggested to add a setting for "touch action", for example bottom right of the screen, and when you press there, the current track to fade out.
Another suggestion could be to add a fade out option when you trim a track.
So we can have either rough cut or five seconds faded out track.

Align annotations

Sorry if I missed this in my search. When adding multiple annotations on top of a PDF, is there a possibility to align them so that their vertical or horizontal positions is the same?

Adding 'track number' as a sortable field

I have entire albums of songs that are confusing to sort through when sorted alphabetically - I know where in the tack listing they should be, and always get lost looking alphabetically. My current work-around of adding the track number to the track name obviously makes the 'songs' tab pretty useless. I could just use the 'custom' field, but I don't know if that would let me 'sort by', and it feels like such a basic library function that it should be included any way?

Maybe I'm missing something, but if there is a way to do it, it's not obvious (as I'm pretty sure 'song ID' isn't what I want, unless I misread things).

Using the Eraser on an iPad pencil

Having switched from paper to MobileSheets for my music, I am now working my way through our choir recommending it to everyone!

My device is a Surface GO2 and it works really well. I have convinced my wife to switch from paper but she is in the Apple cult so has the iPad version.

On my device the Surface Pen worked perfectly out of the box - draw with the tip, erase with the eraser. On the iPad however I can't get the Eraser to work in this way.

In Stylus Mode, the top of the pen works as a Pan tool
If I switch Stylus Mode off, the top of the pen draws like the tip

I have 'Stylus Button Tool' set to 'Eraser' but that doesn't seem to do anything. Full disclosure: the Pen is from Devia, not Apple. I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Is there some sort of configuration I need to get this to work?

Useful app discovered for managing two devices

Hi - I wanted to share an app I discovered that has been helpful to me lately.

It's called LocalSend and is available on all three platforms. It works when you have all your devices on the same wifi network. I'm finding it to be quicker and easier than google drive for individual files.

I have "Manage my own files" turned on in my android. (Not an option on ipad, but I can move things around in the Files app with no issues.) On both devices I have "Create Folder for each song" turned on. I also had to tell MS on the android to place the MS directory under Documents. That way I can easily manage all files in the MS directory with files apps like Solid Explorer.

On Windows, I quickly read the sheet music melody line and type up the notes, chords and lyrics in abc notation using the EasyAbc program. Even though it uses the old abc2ps, instead of abc2svg, it's no issue for the basic notes. It has great time-saving features like automatically adding barlines and entering doubled quotes with the cursor backtrackng between them to quickly enter chords.

Once I save the file, I find it in Explorer, right-click choose Send... in the context menu and choose localsend. I open the localsend app on the ipad and instantly send it over.

If I'm doing a new abc file for a song I already have in Mobilesheets in pdf or chordpro form, then I find the file under the localsend folder that ipad created when installing the app. Longpress and choose move. Then I move it to the folder that already exists for that song in the MS directory.

If it's a new song, I create a new folder for the song first, then move the song into the newly created folder.

Important: MS doesn't know about it yet. So after the file is in its right place, I go to MS. if I'm wanting to replace the pdf with my new cleverer easier-to-read abc file, I longpress the song and choose Swap File from the three dots. I pick local file and find the one I just put in it's place.

I usually uncheck "Delete File" so the pdf just still stays in the same folder, so I can look at it with a files app if I want to (but it won't show up as a song in the MS db anymore).

If it's a new song, I chosse import, and choose local file the same way.

Then I open the abc song within MS and edit it on the ipad, copying and pasting (from Notes) a list of directives I use to establish size, fonts, etc. (I don't want that part cluttering up the file in Easyabc when I'm wring it in Windows.)

I also check it for mistakes, make chord, note or formatting corrections.

When I'm happy with it, I follow the same procedure to send it from the ipad to the android tablet with localsend.

I created a folder called Localsend, also under Documents, before setting up localsend on the android, and then pointed it there to save files. This makes it really easy to jump back and forth when moving a file from localsend to the MS directory with a files app on android.

On both the ipad and the android, it's not necessary to MOVE or COPY the file to the localsend folder. In both platforms you can utilize the "SHARE" option and choose localsend. But after you've RECEIVED a file into the localsend app's folder, then you'll move it into MS's directory.

Right now while my devices MS dbs are not similar enough for the sync feature to be reliable, this has been working for great me. This way I can control where my files are.

One caveat: the ipad is a bit tricky. I usually have to completely close 'swipe away' localsend and reopen the app for it to be seen by the other devices. Even when they 'see' it, it sometimes doesn't send the first time, but reloading once or maybe twice always works.

Maybe someone else will benefit from the idea.

Connected Tablets Page Turn

Right now there's an option in the Connected Tablets section to

Allow the primary device to load songs and setlists

Would it be possible to load different setlists on devices (manually would be ok) but then load songs from that setlist from the primary device?

I have several setlists for my jazz and cover bands, each one named after the instrument (e.g. Bomke4 C, Bomke4 Bb, Bomke4 Bass) and would like to load the song for the respective instrument from the primary device.

As the songs are named " Bb" or " C" this would require to ignore the last 1 to 4 characters of the title.

For gigs I have separate setlists which I load manually, call the first title and then switch from primary but for rehearsals the above would make it so much easier.

Having all titles have only the would make it very difficult to add/remove tracks from the libraries and song section.

Maybe this is interesting for others, also, so I add a poll.

Prefer Flats or Sharps for Chord Transposition

Hello Mike,
First of all, thank you for MobileSheets. I use ChordPro files extensively, and the transposition feature is very useful.
I would like to request an option to control the enharmonic spelling of transposed chords. For example, when transposing, MobileSheets currently displays F#, but in some musical situations I would prefer Gb instead.
It would be very helpful to have a setting such as:
● Prefer flats
● Prefer sharps
● Automatic (current behavior)
This would make chord charts much easier to read, especially for brass players and musicians who work mainly with flat keys.

Support PDF bookmarks when navigating by bookmark

Hi! First, thanks for this great app!

I have a small feature request. I've searched this forum; I believe it hasn't been requested before.

The app supports configuring actions that trigger when a specific region of the screen is touched, in "Settings > Touch & Pedal Settings > Touch Actions". Another member of my choir has set the "Go to Next Bookmark" configured to the upper right of the screen, which looks really convenient.

However, I have noticed that when a score has PDF bookmarks in it, this navigation doesn't work. In other words, it only seems to support bookmarks added in MobileSheets itself. I generally add bookmarks in the PDF directly before importing the PDF into MobileSheets, because it's quicker (it can be automated, which really helps for long pieces like the Matthäus Passion).

Would it be possible for this navigation feature to support PDF bookmarks as well?

Support for OPUS audio format

To save memory space it would be an advantage to have a support for the OPUS audio format.
But when I try to add an audio file in this format, I cannot select such files (they are not listed).
What do you think about?

Request: Additional staff "stamp"

Hi Mike,

The piano staff in the annotations is a nice option. I'd like to suggest/request that you can adjust that with an option to choose just a single staff (treble or bass) and equally important to have a translucency for it similar to the highlighter so you can cover up existing staffs and write notes in it.

And additionally please provide a single measure staff (adjustable in size of course) with the same feature to cover up and annotate single measures in the same way.

quickly disable/re-enable almost all interaction

As I frequently use my tablet during choir performances, it's regularly needed to keep the tablet under the arm, facing the audience, like you'd do with an old-skool folder containing scores. This is common when the choir changes position (in the middle of a performance, or when it enters the stage e.g.).

During such events, all kinds of "disasters" can (and do) happen - depending on which screen is active, the ordering in set lists can be modified, or scores will advance/go back to random pages because of accidental interactions.

If there were a simple way to disable the majority interaction during such events and quickly re-enable it afterwards that'd take away a lot of friction on-stage. Maybe this is possible already, if so - please let me know.

Presets per annotation tool

I use different marker pens:

A small green marker to highlight a melody line in complex chord sequences (on piano), especially when the melody line is not the top notes.
A broad yellow marker to mark where I can turn the page, while in 2-page landscape mode. This way I can turn a page while I am playing the other page at an suitable place instead of waiting until the end of the page.
a red or blue marker to mark left en right pages that belong together, so I can see whether I have turned (the other) page already in 2-page mode.
a pink and orange marker to indicate rubato (pink=slower, orange=faster). Also a pink marker to indicate temporal accents (i.e. slightly delay a note)

Currently, I need to adjust the width and color of the marker every time. I would like to be able to define presets for markers.

Thinking about it, I would also like presets for other annotation tools, for example:

Preset widths and colors for pens
Preset size and colors for stamps
Preset size, colors, style and texts for the text tool, for example sharp/flat/neutral in blue, fingering (1,2,3,4,5) in red
Save paste buffer into presets, so that I can paste different annotations that I have copied before

And thinking about it a little more, the floating (round) annotation tool (which looks beautiful, but I never use it) could be replaced by (or expented with) tool presets.

So in general, I propose to add presets to the annotation tools.

Bookmarks by Alphabetical order

Hi All,
When accessing the bookmark list with in an open score the bookmarks are in page order. Who would support a request to have these in alphabetical order - similar to when accessing them via the main bookmarks tab. When trying to find a piece of music within a large album/score this would be so much easier. Let me know if you agree.

Tempo

Hi,

The "tempo" field is purely numeric, which prevents the entry of musical tempo indications such as andante, allegro, etc. Would it be possible to change this input to text instead of numeric, or to provide a new type of field for entering tempos? Thank You.
