Hi, I'm new here, and I have a question...:
I'm using MobileSheets on an Android tablet for live concerts. I'd like each song to trigger a looping slideshow of 5–10 images on an external display while MobileSheets remains visible on my tablet. Is this possible with MobileSheets itself, a plugin, a Smart Button, or an external app?
Thanks!
I think you'd need to use an external app that can receive MIDI commands and loop through the images you want displayed. Alternatively, you could use two instances of MobileSheets - one for each display/device. Then you could use the "Connect Tablets" feature so that if you load the song on your tablet, the device tied to the external display will load a song with the same title, but that song will be the 5-10 images you want to loop through. You could optionally use automatic scrolling if you want the pages to be turned automatically.

Thanks Mike. The second option sounds promising. One question: can MobileSheets automatically loop back to page 1 after the last image, so the images keep rotating indefinitely until the next song is selected? Or would that require some sort of repeat action?
I think you'd need to enable "Repeat Mode" in the display settings. I haven't tested combining this with automatic scrolling for page turns, but you could see if that will work.
Hi Mike,
I'm trying to reproduce the setup you suggested on the forum.
My goal is:
Lenovo Idea Tab Pro = leader (lyrics)
Samsung tablet = follower (photos)
Both tablets run MobileSheets Pro 3.9.41 (Build 588)
Both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
I haven't even reached the point of loading different songs yet.
I'm already having trouble establishing the Connect Tablets connection.
The follower never appears as a connected follower device, "Join Group" is disabled, and sometimes the leader's group name changes to "null". Could you please describe the exact steps you would use to create this setup from scratch?
For example:
Create the leader.
Connect the follower.
Synchronize the library (or not?).
Use Direct Connection or Groups?
Match by Song ID or Title?
I think I'm missing one essential step.
Thanks very much!
Rob
I'm Dutch, so my versions are in Dutch (just to complicate things a little more..
Important update:
I discovered that the connection works in only one direction.
When the Samsung tablet is the leader, it creates a group normally, the Lenovo immediately finds it, and the Lenovo successfully connects as a follower.
However, when the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is the leader—which is the setup I actually need—the group name changes to “null” and the Samsung cannot join or discover a valid group.
So the issue appears to be specifically that the Lenovo cannot function correctly as the leader. Is there a permission or Android setting I should check on the Lenovo?
When you say the group name changes to "null", are you saying that you see "null" listed on the follower device? When you tap "New Leader" on the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, what group name is listed at the top?
Hey Mike, I found the solution... it was a privacy problem on the Lenovo tablet. Once I gave permission everything worked fine! Sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for the support,
