recommendations for a page turn pedal? - fausto - 07-19-2026
I think I'd like a wireless pedal to turn pages.
Can anyone recommend a particular pedal? Nothing too big as my gig bag is already very full.
What are there any cons as opposed to a finger swipe?

I've tried them all over the years, and this is my favorite, a small, cheap, single button with stellar battery life. The only name I see on it is PT23. I have the black one, but I really should have gotten the white one to see better in low light.

I just set MS to wrap around to the first/last page.
Swiping/tapping is rarely an option for me since my instruments take both hands to play. But a pedal does take practice. Don't take it on a gig until you've practiced with it a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the suggestion mdavej. The size and price is right, but I worry about being able to go back a page. Can it be configured to do that with a double-tap?

Yes, double-tap goes back by default.

How do you change direction with just one button??

You did not mention if you're singer or instrumentalist. What instrument do you play? Is it bowed strings? Do you need both hands for playing?
Did you try face gestures page turning?
Do you need silent operation (in recording studio environment)?
These small Chinese one button turners have smaller size battery.
Airturn's Duo500 battery is easily upgradeable to twice of that size.

I play guitar in jazz big bands. The charts often have "d.s. to coda" s over more than one page.

There's no configuration. The unit itself sends up/left on a double tap out of the box, and that can't be changed, configured or disabled. MS just sees down/right and up/left. If you follow the link and look at the second slide, it has all the details. I personally never use double tap since I have my MS set to wrap. But the few times I tried it, it worked as expected.

The PT23 is great but be aware that they have updated them recently. I bought 4 of them a while ago for our string quartet and they've been great but the batteries were starting to fade and they're super cheap so I thought I'd get some new ones. It turns out that some sellers now have 2 variants.
One is just called PT23 and it's designed to work with mobile devices. Presumably it just sends the equivalent of phone screen swipes. However it works, I couldn't get it to do anything useful on my Boox devices and had to send them back. The other variant is called the PT23A but looks identical to the PT23 (still just says PT23 on the top). It works with Boox devices (and presumably other tablets) and has a few upgrades from the original. It can be fully programmed via an app, plus it has a light that shows you when it's charging or when it has less than 10% battery charge. Like the original model it has 4 modes and they can each be programmed individually. You can program what it does on single tap and double tap. In theory you can also program what it does if you tap and hold or double tap and hold but I haven't tried that.
The only thing I don't like about them is that very occasionally we'll be at a gig and they will all switch off if they aren't used for a few minutes. I don't think they have a sleep mode or anything like that but for some reason at occasional gigs they will all randomly switch off. They can be woken just by tapping on them but it's a bit of a pain because you have to wait a few seconds for them to reconnect and they'll sometimes turn off again after a bit. At first I thought the batteries were dying but that turned out not to be the case. My guess is that it's something to do with the number of bluetooth devices in the area or something blocking signals. Other than that they've been great - tiny, light, cheap, and mostly very reliable. Just make sure you get the right version

Thanks for the responses but I really don't like the idea of having to double click with my foot; at what interval does a double click go from turning back a page to turning forward two pages. I also have a small 3x guitar pedal board to contend with. Which pedal to click is enough to think about without having to also consider if a single or double click is required!

It came yesterday, is very compact, was easy to set up and worked intuitively; click left pedal-moves one page back, click right pedal- moves one page forward.
