configure a Touch Action to emulate a Pedal Action? - ii7V7I - 07-22-2026

I'm brand new to MobileSheets and have been experimenting with Touch Actions to turn pages and follow links. But now I'm wondering how a pedal or Bluetooth button would help do these things. However, I don't have a pedal or button yet! Is there a way to configure a Touch Action (or something else) to emulate a Pedal Action like 'Activate Next Link or Go to Next Page' or one of the other Pedal Actions? I have an Android tablet with a generic (non-bluetooth) S Pen as far as I can tell. But I'm new to the world of tablets as well!

Well, it's been a week and there have been no replies, so I'll assume the answer is 'No'. (But it would be a nice feature so that users could experiment to see whether they want to invest in a pedal or a button Smile )

The good news is that I picked up an inexpensive Bluetooth pedal on Amazon* for less than $30, and by assigning  'Activate Next Link or Go to Next Page' to the 2nd pedal (the 'right' pedal'), I was able to get MobileSheets to move through the pages of a music chart as I hoped based on normal page turns and the Links I added for repeats, D.S.'s, D.C.'s, and Codas. I also got to see a friend's Flic button (with and iPad) accomplish the same thing. (*I bought a JOYO JSP-01. But these are made in China and are branded and sold under many different names.) It's to be determined yet how well this particular pedal works for me in rehearsal and gig situations. Stay tuned.

Next, I'll play with the plethora of other Pedal Actions. I can't yet imagine why there are so many, but maybe it will become obvious as I experiment. If anyone wants to chime in about other Pedal Actions and how they use them, please do. (Also, if there's another forum thread or online document around that dives deep on Links and Pedal Actions, please provide a pointer.)

Sorry about that - you are correct, the answer is no at the moment. A touch action can not trigger a pedal action, but there are list of touch actions you can configure. However, I imagine this doesn't matter if you now have a pedal.

Update: Perhaps I failed to describe well what I was trying to accomplish, but there IS a way to experiment with Pedal Actions without a pedal! Maybe not all Pedal Actions, but I was specifically curious about turning pages and following Links via the "Activate Next Link or Go to Next Page" action. The way to experiment with this without a pedal is to go into Settings -> Face Gesture Settings and Enable Face Gestures, and then Configure Gesture Actions. Then for 'Raised Eyebrows', for example, you can set the Action to  "Activate Next Link or Go to Next Page".

That is true - you can use face gestures to trigger the same actions as a pedal. You can also use MIDI commands to trigger the same actions as a pedal (Settings->MIDI Settings->MIDI Actions).
