AirTurn Airturn Direct Mode? - Elguano - 06-10-2026
Hi,
I'm just trying to verify whether my Airturn Duo BT-500 is connected in Mode 1 (Airturn Direct) mode.
I've followed the instructions and the Airturn is successfully connected to my Android tablet, and it works. I assume if the Airturn is in Mode 1, it's not added to the OS as a BT device, and it connects to MSP, it should be in Direct mode, correct?
Does Direct Mode still emulate a keyboard? When I set a pedal switch to a key, it still registers as PgUp or PgDown, which I thought was how it's supposed to work in Mode 3.

That is correct - if you are in mode 1, you don't have to pair the pedal, you just have to connect under Settings->Touch & Pedal Settings->AirTurn Direct Mode. When using direct mode, the pedal does not act like a keyboard. It still sends key commands through a completely different interface (utilizing the bluetooth connection), so that's why you see the page up and page down keys show up.
