I installed the Flatpak on Fedora 40. A few obvious clicks to install, run, and connect, and it does look quick and more convenient for some editing tasks. Neat, thanks.
The only thing I ran into was the path issue mentioned by Daniel. Following his hint, I deleted the Path= line from the desktop file (which was under /var/lib/flatpak/app somewhere), then rebooted (no doubt there's a better way).

I'm glad to hear that! It was a fair amount of work, so it's really nice to know it's providing value for some users.

Installed it on EndeavourOS linux today, and it works like a charm.
I'm kind of hoping it will be maintained and get a few more features in the future (e.g. allowing to delete/rename composers).

I believe you should already be able to do that by enabling the composers tab if needed, right-clicking on the composer and selecting "Rename".

Cool you've got some functionaility working Linux, being a very experienced Linux user and a happy MobileSheets user I was curious to try it. Installed both flatpack (and later the zip) file on a Fedora laptop and both apps start up fine, I connect to the tablet via the Companion method, I can make a backup, install songs etc, but can't see how to view songs. What's the scope of functionality? It seems mainly useful for Importing songs for the tablet.

It's mainly for speeding up imports and entering metadata in a more convenient manner. You can also set up setlists and such, and extract files from library backups if needed.

That's odd as I tested all three types of installers on Linux for 4.1.6. I'm testing with an Ubuntu VM. I'll test it again though. On a side note, you can't use flatpak like that to look for updates - you have to download the latest flatpak file off my website then install it.

I completely uninstalled the companion app on linux, downloaded the latest flatpak, ran flatpak install mobilesheets.flatpak, then did flatpak run com.zubersoft.mobileSheetsCompanion and version 4.1.6 is listed in the about dialog.

I downloaded the .deb file, ran sudo dpkg MobileSheetsCompanion.deb and version 4.1.6 is listed.
