Midi Tech Midiface II - Ketron SD1 Probleme
#1
Ich habe folgende Konfiguration:
Windows 11 PC
Miditech Midiface II
Ketron SD1

I'm not sure what you mean by MIDI link, as the linking feature is only supported for Yamaha Genos and SX keyboards, unless you are using that term generically. If you go to Settings->MIDI Settings->Configure MIDI Connections, are you able to check the input and output ports for your device and establish a connection? I want to verify this first.

DeepL:

That all seems fine. Did you make sure that MobileSheets is sending on the same MIDI channel that the Midilink is receiving on? I don't much about that device - is there documentation that indicates what should happen when it receives a program change message?

Mike

DeepL:

After many attempts and adjustments (the problem was with the Ketron SD1), I've finally managed to transfer MIDI data (program changes) to both the Ketron SD1 and the Yamaha PSR 9000.

Using only one keyboard, it works perfectly.

The PSR 9000 receives on channel 1, and the Ketron SD1 receives on channel 2.

Unfortunately, I can't transfer this data to both keyboards simultaneously.

I connect the PSR 9000 to the Miditech MIDIface and then, via the PSR 9000's MIDI Out, to the SD1's MIDI In. No data is transferred.

The reverse connection, from the SD1 to the PSR 9000 via MIDI Thru, also fails.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Midi-In vom SD1.

If each keyboard is receiving on a different channel, it's possible it is not forwarding MIDI commands from a different a channel. I think a better solution would be a MIDI hub (something like a mioXM) that can handle forwarding messages to each device.

Also, please don't create duplicate posts/threads. I merged your other one here.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try. I'd allready thought of that.

But it should of least work with MIDI Thru.

I'd say try a more simple setup first - have all devices on the same channel and pass a simple MIDI command like a program change. See if both keyboards process it and change the active instrument if they both use the same channel.

Thank you, I will try it.

Thank you, I will try it.

I have now tested it with a Miditech Midiface 2x2. The commands are transmitted on channel 1 and understood by the keyboard. However, as soon as I write a second command in Mobile Sheets for the second keyboard (send/receive channel 2), this command is not executed. On the Miditech, an LED indicates whether a command is being sent. This is the case for channel 1, but not for channel 2.

Something is wrong with Mobile Sheets here.

If that were the case, no users would be able to send MIDI commands over any channels but the first, but that is obviously not the case. Please just connect your tablet directly to the second keyboard and send a MIDI command over channel 2. If that works, the problem is with the Miditech Midiface 2x2 and there is a configuration issue that you will have to resolve.
