updating MS companion

Today I tried to use MS Companion to connect my Windows 11 laptop to my Android tablet running MS Pro.  I could not connect them and got Android message that MS Companion needed to be updated.  I have it set to auto update but it is not updating. Both are using the same Wifi network (not a mesh router)

You did not list what version you are currently running of the companion app, but I'm guessing it may be something before 4.0.5. The simplest thing to do is go to https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/companion/, download the latest x64 installer for the companion app, install that, and then you shouldn't receive an error after that.
