Chord diagrams for ukulele chordpro format
#1
Thanks for the new {chord} and {define} directives, Mike. This is much appreciated.

I have been trying to put in chord diagrams for 4 string ukulele but I haven't found any Chordpro documentation on how to specify anything but the standard 6 strings.

Has anyone got any hints here, please?

As I understand from the Chordpro specification, chord diagrams are only for stringed instruments with 6 strings. If you put only 4 frets into the define directive you get also a warning: "Incorrect number of fret positions (4, should be 6)".

Thanks for the answer.

I read that 6 strings were the default but I have seen references to other 4 stringed instruments including ukulele complete with chord diagrams.

I can't find any documentation that tells how to do it apart from using chordpro configuration files which obviously are no good for Mobilesheets.

In the chordpro standalone implementation you can define instruments (as ukulele) in the configuration file. But I don't see how you can change the instrument in a chordpro file.
Something like:
Code:
{meta instrument ukulele} {define-ukulele: Am base-fret 1 frets 2 0 0 0}
yields an error "instrument" can be set from config only."

If you manage to change the config to the instrument ukulele, you should get diagrams with 4 strings.

Load your ChordPro file, tap the A at the top right, then "Advanced Settings" and change the instrument dropdown to Ukulele if you want the ukulele chord diagrams.

Yes, most times MobileSheets has an option for whatever you want. Have to keep in sync with all the new features  Big Grin

In the ChordPro program, you can specify instruments in the presets menu, or on the command line.

See https://www.chordpro.org/chordpro/chordp...resets-tab and
