Updating companion triggers virus warning
#1
Exclamation
I use the companion to upload file to my table running mobilesheets.  However, the android app has automatically updated itself, and says I needed to update the companion as well.  However, I can't because my computer is detecting a virus.

I use the companion on a computer managed by others and I can't disable the virus checking.  But also, it may well have a virus (although often these are false detections).

This is what I get when I try to update the companion:

Has anyone else encountered this?  Can Zubersoft look into it?

Since the app has autoupdated on the tablet, I currently can't use the companion because I can't update the windows app.

It's a false positive. The companion app absolutely does not have a virus of any kind. It's built with Avalonia UI and the installer is built with Wix. You'll have to find a way to bypass the virus scanner. I just ran the installer through virustotal.com and it shows 0 issues detected through any vendor.

OK thanks for checking.  I'll see if I can disable the virus checker.  As I mentioned, it is an administered computer (work issued, but I use it for personal use as well) so I may not be able to have IT look into it.

BTW, I was able to fix this by uninstalling, downloading the new version, and then installing that.

Perhaps the "updater" rather than the "installer" had the virus, or false-positive virus signature.

There is no separate updater - there's just the main app which downloads the installer from my server (the same way you would from the website), and just runs that installer.
