Left pedal won't turn back a page
#1
Hello, friendly forum folks!

I'm a newbie to MobileSheets but a long-time user of forScore. Today at rehearsal I discovered that my bluetooth pedal would only go forward, which was an improvement over the last week, when it stopped working mid-rehearsal. The pedal still works fine in forScore.

I've tried without success following all the instructions to get the left pedal to turn back a page. In pedal action settings, do I choose pedal 2 to program the left pedal? (It didn't work.) I've tried choosing pedal 1 but that didn't work either.

For pedal 1, the keys window shows "return" and the action window shows "go to next page."

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

What type of pedal is it and what mode is the pedal in? That's especially important to know for an AirTurn pedal. You may need to go to your main iPad settings, then Accessibility -> Keyboards -> Full Keyboard Access and toggle that setting. Otherwise, these are the normal steps for configuring a pedal:

1) Load MobileSheets, tap the three dots at the top right and then Settings.
2) Tap Touch & Pedal Settings and then Pedal Actions
3) Tap the "Keys" field for Pedal 1.
4) Tap the "Clear" button on the dialog.
5) Press a pedal switch. If a key shows up, the pedal is communicating properly with your device.
6) If a key shows up, tap OK, then select the action you want that pedal to trigger from the dropdown below the keys field. Repeat these steps for pedal 2.

If the pedal isn't communicating properly with your device, you can try re-pairing the pedal in the system bluetooth settings and repeating the steps above.

I also would normally recommend putting the pedal in a mode where it sends keys like "Page down" and "Page up" over something like Return.

Mike, you are a life-saver. The short story: I followed your instructions and now the pedal works going page-forward and page-back.

It's a Donner pedal.

When I went to KEYS and tapped the right pedal, the word RETURN auto-populated the field.
When I went to KEYS and tapped the left pedal, the word SPACE auto-populated the field.
I don't see any option to choose "Page down" or "Page up." Where would I find those? (Maybe it doesn't matter now, but it might come in handy in future.)

Your pedal would need to have a switch on it which changes which keys are sent. It may not support that if you don't see a toggle.
