Hello, everyone:
I am a new user of Mobile Sheets as of today, as my wife has purchased me a new Samsung tablet for my birthday. I play in town band and Orchestra predominantly, but also occasionally play in a rock band. I have spent a lot of time looking through the users guide and this forum and it appears that there are a number of ways to skin the cat so to say on making what's important to me visible and easily accessible.
So the question is, what is important to me? I need to be able to quickly move to my particular part in whatever situation I'm in. I suspect this is common for pretty much everyone here. I had started down this path thinking I would create a library for each of the clarinet Parts I might need to look at and then have a separate Library for the full PDF and maybe even another one for the conductor score. The more I look at the various sources of information here though the more I think that there's probably a better way to do this. I still like the idea of keeping separate libraries for band music, Orchestra, and Rock Band for example, mainly because there is zero overlap between any of those three. Now then what do I do with the big one, which is the band music right now. Once I figure this one out, the rest will be easy I think. So, here are what I think are so my options as well as my request for help to figure out what are better options or which is the best option for me.
I have already experimented with creating extracted files using a CSV file as a guide. Using this, I created a couple of 1st clarinet files in that library. Knowing how to do that , I can now do the same for the other instruments parts (ie: clarinet1,2,3). I would then have a PDF for just the clarinet part and another PDF for the whole band collection.
i have also found that I can edit the viewed version of the PDF, moving the clarinet parts to the front of the PDF, which means that I have the entire PDF still available to me but the important parts at the front of the PDF. I've also seen a references to collections and Snippets but I have not found an explanation of how that would work for my needs.
I'm really sorry as I'm sure this has been hashed over many times already but I have not found these specific questions asked or discussed in the sections that I've been through. Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, there is so much to look through and searches usually require previous knowledge that I don't have at this point.
Please let me know if there are thoughts on this subject and thank you very much in advance!
