Annotations in red
#1
I've recently noticed that some of my annotations turn red when in edit mode.
What does it mean?

I've never seen that before - are you using night mode by chance? Do you have "Allow editing of embedded PDF annotations" checked and those are embedded annotations? It's possible something is being changed during the conversion.

So you are saying that this is not your coding?
Interesting, some annotations turn red if I turn on "Allow editing of embedded annotations" showing them.
They are probably embedded because today I've been playing with "Automatically embed annotations" and I was checking the pdf outside MSP to see the embedded ones.
Actually the color change can be useful I guess..
However, if I make annotations in the PDF itself not in MSP, the color change doesn't apply to those, only to annotations placed in MSP and then embedded.
Can you confirm that this makes sense?

I can only assume it's some weird issue with the PDF library where it's reporting the colors incorrectly for some of the annotations. Or there is some other property that changes the color from what is reported. I'll have to get an .msf from you for that song to check it out, but I'm not sure if there will be anything I can do about the issue. Also, to be clear, embedded annotations are read out of the PDF, then I convert those to the MobileSheets representation for annotations and render them in the way that MobileSheets handles annotations (instead of letting the PDF render the annotations as part of the page). This makes them appear editable and they behave like other annotations. After changes are made, I then write out those changes to the PDF, updating the existing annotation if possible, or creating a new one and deleting the old if not.

So I ran some tests and as far as I can tell this is what happens.
- Only annotations done in the PDF outside MSP behave strangely
- Colors change to it's symmetrical RGB (not its inverted) in the annotation when "Allow editing of embedded PDF annotations" is enabled
For example 0,255,255 (cyan) --> 255,255,0 (yellow) (as opposed to its inverted color that would be 255,0,0)
Any non basic color does the same 10,173,169 ---> 169,173,10)

I emailed you a sample but you can test it in any other pdf that you have annotated outside MSP.
I APOLOGIZE, THIS SHOULD BE IN THE WINDOWS FORUM. This doesnt happen in Android (I dont know in iOS)

A lot of Microsoft's stuff uses BGR while other things use RGB. it leads to a lot of headaches. So I'll have to see if there is something I can do. Thanks for sending the .msf file.
