Practice Diary
#1
Hello everyone, please excuse my poor English. I use MobileSheet enthusiastically every day at the piano. I'd like to document my progress while practicing. I have a setlist of the pieces I'm currently practicing. It would be great if I could see clearly how long I've been practicing each piece, what problems I'm still having, etc. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could do this with MobileSheet?

Thanks a lot an greetings, Wolfram

You might take a look at "notes" (Notizen). That's something different than "annotations" (Anmerkungen)! It's some text that can be attached to a song and is not displayed all the time during performance.
There are two kinds of notes, song notes and setlist notes. Both are stored per song, but song notes are always there whereas setlist notes are only shown when the song is in a specific setlist. Read more in the manual, German manual p. 123, English manual p. 109 and experiment with the possibilities.
I have not used that much by now, but I guess I would go for setlist notes.
Using setlists to structurize practicing seems to be the right way, I would expect that in the future you will have more than one practice setlist, per year, per month, per style whatever is your way to go.

I wanted to suggest the notes as well, but probably not setlist notes but song notes since you probably want to see your problems and time spent song specific and not related to a setlist since practice sessions (if you want to organize them in setlists) vary but progress/problems/time amount spent with a piece should IMHO be noted overall.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I already use that option; it's not bad and actually perfectly adequate. But I'm always thrilled when I can, for example, analyze how long I've practiced each piece, etc. There are apps for that, but I don't want to get bogged down in details. The most important thing is the practice itself.

I use an app called Practice Time where I can record what I'm working on, how long I spend on each item and make notes as I go. Perhaps that might be what you're looking for?
