I am supposed to perform a solo piece with an orchestra this spring.  Setting and maintaining tempo is a key issue for me.  For this purpose, I plan to try MS metronome in the visual only mode. MS Metronome setup has a field called "Playback Mode", which selects among "Audio Only", "Visual Only" or "Audio and Visual."

What surprised me is that the playback mode is a global property that applies to all songs, while all the other properties of the metronome (tempo, time signature, beat sound) are specific to each song.  I think the playback mode must also be specific to each song.  I want to continue to use Audio Only mode for all the other songs.

That's something I can consider supporting once I add options to apply metronome settings to other songs in the library, set defaults, reset to defaults, etc.

Conceptually, the playback mode may be handled in the same way as the tempo, with a minimum additional data storage.  

But yeah I understand a bunch of boring issues must be considered when a new feature is added to an existing system, no matter how trivial it is.

I do the performances only so often, so I can switch the playback mode back and forth without problems.  

I guess I post this since I think this is a right direction for the app to evolve, adding a useful feature with no major impact to its implementation.
