Here is my setup :
- unique keyboard is a Nord Stage 3
- Gig Performer manages VSTs on a MacBook, so I can use both sounds from the Nord and sounds from the VSTs
- iPad used as an external monitor, to display MobileSheets (which is actually running on the MacBook)
So far, I have synchronized the set list on the Nord with the set list on Gig Performer, so that when I change song on the Nord, it also changes song in Gig Performer.
What I am trying to do is to have Mobile Sheets do the same, simultaneously.
The Nord sends a MIDI message to Gig Performer which appear to be :
- for the next page : Program Change, program number 16, channel 1
- for the previous page : Program Change, program number 15, channel 1
I thought that entering the same parameters in MIDI Actions of MobileSheets would do the trick, but it seems it doesn't. What have I missed ?
OK from your description, it doesn't sound like you're actually selecting arbitrary songs in Gig Performer, you're simply switching from whatever song is currently active to the next (or previous) song. If you were using program changes to actually select arbitrary songs, that would work fine.
However it sounds like you are just mapping Program Change numbers 16 and 16 to the Global MIDI Next and Prev respectively. When you do that kind of mapping, the actual device (in your case the Nord) is part of the mapping so sending the same message from another device won't be recognized.
The easiest solution is to use system actions in the global rackspace. Put a couple of buttons in the global rackspace and insert a System Actions plugin in the global rackspace. Then map those buttons to the Next and Prev parameters of the System Actions plugin. Then, learn those program change messages from Mobile Sheets to the two buttons and you're done.
That said, this is a very poor way to use Mobile Sheets. Assuming you have all your sheet music in Mobile Sheets, you can use program changes in Mobile Sheets to select arbitrary songs in GP, not just the next or previous song. This is all documented in the Gig Performer online user guide available on the GP website

I'm not sure what you describe allows me to control everything from the Nord, not from MS, as it is easier for me to reach out to. I have my set list on the Nord, and am using an "infinite" knob to scroll down the list. What I would like to do is that the program change sent by the Nord is seen simultaneously by GP and by MS. I can get GP to see it, but not MS. Of course, I could have the Nord drive GP and then GP relay the message to MS, but why not do it directly ?

Answer: because the solution above is precisely how to do it
Think of GP as your hub - everything goes into GP and then it does whatever routing is needed to manage your other devices, whether it's Mobile Sheets, or half a dozen external synthesizers.
I obviously don't know how you have GP set up. In my case, for each project I'm in I have a master "setlist" that has all the songs played by that band -- in no particular order, but each with unique MIDI selection codes.
For a hardware keyboard, I have "performances" set up for each song as well -- again with specific midi selection sequences.
I also have a "silent" for GP and each board for occasions when I use GP/Physical simultaneously (or switching between).
I then have MobileSheets select the correct song in GP and/or physical board. So MS is the master selection controller.
Now it seems to me that it is pretty easy for you to have the Nord "infinite knob" send those same control codes to the midi channel that MobileSheets is listening on, and have the knob scroll through a mobilesheets setlist. (see Settings->Midi Settings->Midi Actions).
Have each song in MS configured to send the correct selection MIDI to GP and your local boards when a song is loaded.
Now, you only have to set up your setlist in MS and not in GP or your NORD.
So ... I finally took some time to go back to the topic. I made progress thanks for GigPerformer's advice, but some steps need clarifying for me.

Hi there, So, I'm a gigperformer user and I use GP with the built in score viewer but am transitioning to mobilesheets shortly. From my tests, in this case, it's better to assign a midi send command within each song in GP to change the sheet in mobilesheets according to the song you select in GP.
SO, when you select NEXT/PREV song on the Nord it only has to change the song in GP an, in return, GP will select the sheet on the tablet according. THIS WAY, every song in GP is assigned a dedicated sheet in MS and you can jump from any song to any song and the MS will always be the correct one BECAUSE GP controls that aspect.
If you've mastered the next/prev song select from the Nord to GP, I would definitely consider just assigning a midi send for each song in GP and a midi receive in MS... it may take a little longer but this way you will be assured to select the correct MS with it's corresponding GP.
If you try and sync both GP and MS via a next/prev message, you run the risk of MAYBE one of the 2 doesn't react ONCE and the whole gig is out of sync until you fix it.
