I love Mobile Sheets, but one feature that would really make a huge improvement for me would be an easier way to build a setlist based on required length.

For example, my band has several standard sets for 30min, 45min or 1hr set lengths as they're the most common we get. We like to change things up, but at the moment there's no easy way to see how the time is looking overall as we change it.

What I would like is to have the option to make a setlist 'time dependant' and that adds a box at the top of the list, and the time of the set is only based on the songs inside that box, so you can have a long list of all your material, then drag and drop things into the box and keep an eye on the total time as you go. 

Ideally being able to add a chosen percentage to add onto the song time as 'banter/set up' allowance would be handy, but not as useful as the main featuere idea.

I've attached a rough idea of what I'm thinking of, although ideally it would be best in the 'edit' window instead/as well.

You can do this already

Settings| Library Settings| Show SetList Duration.

This does involve you adding a Duration to each songs metadata (although there is also a setting to calc duration from an audio file)

The setlist duration is displayed on the setlist screen (well it is on mine, I can't remember if I had to set another setting).

The setlist duration is also shown as you edit a setlist (together with the number of songs that have a non-zero duration field)
It's a bit of a pain identifying which songs don't have a duration (I use the Companion for this) so it is a good idea to always add a duration whenever you change a song. I use my stopwatch on my mobile to determine the duration - you can't set it by tapping a start/stop mechanism in MS.

PS  You also need to use Settings| Library| SongTitle Formatting if you also want to show the duration on each song; I believe there is a tutorial on doing this or read the manual

If you are populating the song duration field for every song, you can enable Settings->Library Settings->Show Setlist Duration to see the total duration. As you add songs in the setlist editor, the total duration will be updated. So you can see as you are approaching whatever time limit you want to set. So the only thing that is missing from your request is something that would either force you to stay within that time limit, or some kind of warning if you exceed it.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I already have set list duration and song duration turned on, which is useful, but not what I'm looking for.

Although, I just found the 'filter' button on the 'edit set list' screen and that will probably come close enough for one use case. 

The other use the bar idea would still be useful, as I have a long list of everything I like to play at open mics and rearrange it on the fly as the mood takes me. I do see how I could make it a collection, and build the set list from there though, so maybe I'll try changing how I use the app and see if that works.
