MS Companion
#1
Hi
I am hoping that this will be an easy question to answer.
Can MS Companion run on the same machine as MS itself?

Don't see why not - for instance you could use it to access a tablet.

Not sure that you would gain much if you are running it against MS on the same windows system (but there might be a reason for doing it).

The companion is free so just download it and give it a whirl.

Unfortunately, no, you cannot do that. Microsoft prevented it in their UWP framework. They do not allow UWP applications to communicate with other applications on the same device over the network (they viewed it as a potential security vulnerability). My goal is to switch away from UWP, but I'm waiting on updates from the company that makes the PDF library I use in order to do that. So this will be possible in the future.
