Is there a way to use the metronome just for count in (adjustable numbers of bars)?

NOT for use in combination with audiofiles/backingtracks (I add count in to the mp3),
just to get the right start tempo.

If there is no current way, would it be possible to add such a feature?

Load a score, bring up the metronome, tap the settings icon at the top left and you can enable "Count-In" and specify the number of measures.

I’m curious what technique you use to create your count-in audio to add to your MP3 files. 

Honestly I’d love to see a count-in feature within the audio player itself in MobileSheets. You hit the Play button and it gives you a 1-bar audible count-in that matches the song BPM before playing the audio file.

In case of I need a count-in for a backing track, I add a click track with  "Audacity".
It´s very simple and this way I have full control about the count-in.

First I  measure the exactly start(!) tempo of the song, then
usually I use 2 bars for count-in (  |  1  .  3  .  |  1  2  3  4  |  or  |  .  2  .  4  |  1  2  3  4  |)
or in case of 6/8, 12/8, 5/4, 7/4, . . . . . corresponding click tracks.

For latin music I use clave-mp3 samples (2/3 or 3/2 or what else is needed).

But imagine how much better life would be if you didn’t have to do this manually for 100+ songs (I’ve already moved 142 song transcriptions over to MobileSheets after buying it just last week) and instead you could just click a count-in button on the audio player in MobileSheets and it automatically played a count-in based on the song’s tempo and time signature before seamlessly starting the song audio itself. This would be a killer new feature. Heck, I’d pay for the app again just a week later to have this.
