The problem is with the new automatic syncing when using the "Connect Tablets" feature.
And effectively, I had just turned on the option to reconnect devices at startup. I have now turned this off, and the annotations are syncing automatically again.
So I now have a temporary fix for the problem. Many thanks! This feature is really important for me: if you need any help in testing a particular configuration, I'd be happy to assist.

Thanks for following up. That certainly points to a bug I'll need to fix then.

Here's another problem.
- Both iPads are set to not reconnect devices on startup. They are connected with Book mode and annotations are set to synchronise between the two devices.
- If I make an annotation on the leader iPad, it is automatically copied to the follower.
- If I make an annotation on the follower iPad, it is not copied to the leader.
- Also, after making the annotation on the follower, the follower no longer responds to page turn gestures. I need to disconnect and reconnect it in order to restore this function.

I am now on 3.9.37
In connect tablets mode I still cannot make annotations to sync. Also I am not sure what to expect. Would annotations be copied directly or only after restarting the program? Are annotations supposed to be copied both ways or only from leader to follower?
Thanks for any help

Wait I found the "problem". It didn't work when I connected with the previous connection (as I usually do), but after connecting with New leader, it works. Both ways. I am very happy.

Based on the feedback I've received, it certainly seems like there is a problem if you use the option to reconnect using the last settings or automatically reconnect (they both use a similar approach to establishing a connection compared to tapping "New leader" and such). So I'll dig into it. coolaun - are you using the option to connect using the last settings? Or do you still have that problem even after connecting "New Leader" and then tapping "Join Group" on the follower?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, here's news: the problem I had this afternoon with the annotations not getting copied from follower to leader has mysteriously disappeared, as has the problem with the follower no longer reacting to page turn gestures.
Both this afternoon and this evening I have been connecting using "New Leader" and then tapping "Join Group" on the follower. This afternoon I did this several times, and I even tried restarting both iPads. Each time I had the same two problems.
I cannot think of anything I have changed between this afternoon and this evening, but in any case the annotations are now getting correctly copied in both directions. Go figure!
I'll let you know if anything else weird happens!

Well I'm happy to hear that, but please do let me know if you face any problems. I'll get to work on fixing the other issues.

Thanks for porting it to ARM64! Running MS on a Surface Pro 12 inch (2025) and everything is working beautifully. The emulated version wasn't bad, but it's definitely snappier now.

Thanks hlbuck! It's great to hear some positive feedback with that, as I hadn't really heard anything from users with ARM64 processors.

Just updated. Both my Samsung Tablets (Tab S6 & Tab A 10.5) show the "Loading songs from database" message then close. My Sony Xperia 1iv works fine. After a few attempts on the tablets I get a system message that the app has a bug. Is there a download for the last version as I need to use these Tabs tomorrow morning. Thanks.

If that problem is happening across multiple devices, then something is very wrong with your library/database. Please create a library backup file on your Sony device, and share that with mike@zubersoft.com. I'm going to have to figure out what is corrupted in your database, address it and send you back a backup file you can restore on your devices. On the two newer devices, you'll want to go to the application settings on the device and clear the data.
You can't downgrade the software, so that's not an option, as Google Play does not support that. I'd rather get everything working for you with the latest version than go down that path.
