We have some pieces in our choir where page 1 in the PDF is actually page 2 in the music (or 3 or 4).  This means when the our Musical Director says 'Page 44' it's not that easy to find it.  I know there are historical discussions about this where complex solutions involving .csv files are suggested but all I really need is a page number offset.  Is there a way of doing this (or do I add some dummy pages somehow at the beginning as a workaround)?  

(BTW MobileSheets has revolutionised my music library and there's no going back. Excellent piece of software!)

If there are just one or two pages offset you could insert a blank page at the beginning..
Got to "rearrange pages" there you could instert the pages you need.
