MobileSheets version 3.9.38 is now available for download on all three platforms. This is a small update that was released to address a few bugs, namely transposing issues with ABC files. The next update is adding support for nextcloud, and may include a few other small fixes before I turn my attention to version 3.10.0. The full list of changes can be found below:

Changes affecting all platforms v3.9.38

• The option to load the editor after import now works when selecting the option to update an existing song
  
• Fixed transposing issues with ABC files and ABC sections in ChordPro files
  

Android v3.9.38

• Errors that occur while authenticating through Google Drive will now be properly displayed.
  

Windows v3.9.38

• Fixed issue with ABC sections not rendering correctly in some situations
  
• Made changes to help layout errors on the notes dialog on some devices
  
• Added safety check to prevent crashes while annotating
  

iOS/iPadOS/MacOS v3.9.38

• Fixed incorrect layout in some situations on the new leader dialog
  
• Fixed missing label on the ABC transpose dialog
  
• Fixed issue where annotations would not refresh correctly when synchronizing annotations with the connect tablets feature

That version is badly broken on my Boox 103. Abcs not don't render at all anymore, the screen hangs at "Loading page 1 of 1..." forever.

Edit: It is even worse. Some abcs render, some don't. I was able to get one of them back to life by editing out the "clef=treble" annotation in the K: field, another one by resetting the transposition (the keys and offsets appear to be pretty much random when you bring up the transpose dialog), but most of those that don't render can't be brought back to life. I also had one abc that die work after the upgrade but not anymore after a few other ones failed.

Is there a way to downgrade to an earlier release? I do depend on my device and I'm getting sort of nervous.

I'll be pushing out an update this week that addresses a problem that occurs if the transpose key is not set for the ABC file.

Myy Windows desktop shows that I have 3.9.38
But my Windows laptop says that it has the latest version but it shows only 3.9.29 and it doesn't update...
What can be happening?   I need to sync both devices and I cant because they need to have the same version.

Good morning Mike, 

is there a time line for the fix? If not, is there a way to downgrade the installation? I crucially depend on abc rendition, and getting back to working for me would mean to completely restructure my data base to pdfs which is a major effort.

I'm releasing the iOS and Windows updates today, and if I can manage it, Android as well. For Android, I am also including other major changes in the update including:

- A rearchitecture of the handling of external sources such as Dropbox, Google Drive, nextcloud, etc, so I can more easily add additional sources in the future such as simple webDAV, sftp, smb3, etc.
- Both a Simplified Chinese translation as well as a Traditional Chinese translation.
- The additional of nextcloud support

Sorry it's taken a bit for all this (some personal life stuff was eating up time such as a broken water heater that started leaking in the attic).

Since the version numbers asymptotically reach 3.9.99.999.999, when can we expect a new major release or version 4? I am waiting for the option to have different sheets for different roles or players in a band for years.

While I don't particularly appreciate the hints of sarcasm in your message, I'm juggling a lot of priorities and requests. I am working with a second developer now and that is going to speed up development. I have stated my roadmap on the forum previously, and my goal was to release updates on 3.9.X to cover some more frequent feature requests I'm receiving, then 3.10.0 was promised to deliver updates to the annotations editor, and then after that is when I wanted to roll out the versioning features. Please also remember that I charge $0 for updates and new features, and there is no subscription fee with this application.

Sorry, yeah, you are right. Should just be a joke. I appreciate your work and am a loyal user to Mobile Sheets and as that i am waiting for this improvement now for so long and I have to admit, that i am a bit tired of handling my workarounds. I really want it to become easier to handle.

Having said that, let me add that i would definetly pay for it. At least think about releasing it with a donate button.

I'd love to release it as soon as possible, believe me. There are only so many hours in the day and I have to prioritize customer support and bug reports first before I can work on new features. However, having a second developer with me means progress will constantly be made on new features, so I really do think the timeline will be much shorter now.
