I don't use a mac computer. But I really like the ipad for MS. I regularly use the Files app behind the scenes on the ipad, using "swap file" after changing a file name, etc. (fyi, I look at other file types, chordpro, pdfs, or image files with the files app quick look feature, if I need to see it outside of MS and it works great, but not for abc files, unless they're inside a chordpro file.)

Sometimes, especially in case of crashes, I like to look at the abc file outside of MS. There's a recent problem with abc files on the ipad. Apple has decided to lock it's association of the .abc extension to Alembic 3D modeling files, so text editors will no longer open them. (And I tried the few other abc ipad apps, none do what I needed, and don't even support lyrics.)

So now I have an android, too! So, if I've made a change, added a directive MS doesn't like and it won't open, etc., I can open it in a couple of different text editors in android with no problem. This is because I also set up MS on internal and I created an MS folder under one of the main folders, like Documents. And I chose Manage my own files. In this way I can use a files app like Solid Explorer to, once again, access the MS files with other apps.

I'm finding a lot of value in using all three platforms for various situations.

On a Mac, long press/right-click a song to select it on the library screen, tap "Edit Song", go to the Files tab and long-press/right-click a file in the list. It should show a full path to the file. That is where all of the MobileSheets files are stored.

On an iPad, all of the files are stored under the MobileSheets folder, which you can find by going to "On My iPad" in the Files app.

As far as the crashes, I'll address those as quickly as I can early next week. I have one fix in place already, but I need to verify there are no other scenarios where the app can crash with ABC files.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but this seems to be the place to mention two things. 
First: You can (now) open an abc file on the iPad in a text editor from the Files app.  Long press on the file name and pick from the available apps. I don't know whether this requires that you have opened an abc file from a text editor first or not. 
Second: you should be able to select Get Info rather than Open With and from there change Always Open With to your preferred app. Unfortunately the default app is listed as MobileSheets and there are no other apps offered as alternatives. To add insult to injury, tapping on the file opens, not MobileSheets, but the usual complaint that the file is an Alembic 3D scene. 
I don't know whether MS is somehow locking abc to MS. I hope that this info might be helpful

MobileSheets just registers itself as an app that can handle .abc files. It certainly does not set itself as the default for anything. However, if there are no other apps on the device registered to handle .abc files, it may just fall back to using MobileSheets automatically.

I thought that might be the case, but
 with the difference between “open with” and “always open” and Apple Support’s inability to explain it, I figured you should have a heads up.

   I could not find this setting. I'm interested in this thread because I wanted to find a way to shrink the width of abc sections buried inside of a ChordPro file. Currently, the abc sections always span the entire width of the page, no matter how short the abc snippet is.

   My use case: I write a ChordPro file with lyrics and chords, and sometimes needs to write out the bass lick, just a few notes or two measures to remind me what to play. If the song was previously displayed in a manner that has two columns of lyrics/chords(so I could fit everything on one page instead of multiple pages), after I add the abc section, now I'll never get back to the two column format. So if I could shrink the abc width, I could have two columns, and still have the short abc sections.

   I tried adding %%leftmargin xx and %%rightmargin xx inside the abc sections within a ChordPro file, and it seems to have no effect. I think this is what you're trying to say in the comment I quoted above.  Is it possible to do what I envision?

Wait, hang on. I was able to make a two measure abc section, and it does not span the entire width of the page. So maybe I'm doing something wrong(again, sigh). I'll play with it some more.
