Insert mp3 time stamp
#1
I would like to suggest an easier way to insert time stamps as annotation.

Why?
For practice and rehearsal often informations are needed which links a specific bar to the according time of a mp3.

At current it is very complicated/time consuming. You have to keep mp3player permanent visible (covers score)
to read the time and pause it. You have to close the mp3player to have access to the whole score, open text field, write the time
and restart the whole procedure.

IMHO an improvement would be:
- Adding a further button to the overlay/annotations bar (e.g. a clock as a symbol) which performs:
- Pause mp3, fade out mp3player, copy time stamp to the clipboard
- Open text field (default position could be middle/top) and insert time stamp

Further steps can be easily done by the user (position, format text field,....,...., restart audioplayer).

I tried all other ways (touch/pedal actions, smart buttons), but couldn't find a practical way.
Further disadvantage is you have to change some of this settings temporarly "just for adding time stamps" and
reset it for stage (because all settings are full taken for stage and of course essential).

My present workaround is play the mp3 on PC and make annotations on tablet,
but I think/hope there could be a smarter way.

If you want to start playing music from a specific point, you can do so using a smart button.
Play your music up to the desired point
New smart button -> Load and play audio trackball -> Enter a name -> Click the stopwatch -> Place the button at the desired location.

@McAroni, thanks, I know this.

- Advantage of your method is clear, enables jump to the desired position. Covers surely some needs.
But that's not always necessary (*see below).

An improvement here could be an additional option "insert time to button label" if stop watch is tapped.
Maybe Mike will take this into account?

Anyway, your method needs some steps, my suggestion means a 1-click solution to get the time into a
text field. And a text field offers more layout options.

(*)Further sometimes the player has to be opened and further settings
has to be done (AB-loops, only start at this time, sometimes pitch shift, tempo changes,....)
So, I didn't feel a disadvantage to open the player by the according touch action and make this additional settings.

- For this situations "only" the information about the according time would be sufficient and more layout options are possible.

My suggestion is induced by some high quality scores, where this informations are provided.
Just as a hint: time stamps are usually noticed within brackets, maybe this could be included.
