Hello!
I'm here because 15.0 update to forScore completely reworked file-storage and instantly made the app extremely slow on my old iPad. I finally got fed up, and searched for alternatives. I discovered Mobilesheets as the only app that supports batch importing, so i put in the work and migrated!
Very pleased to see great performance and looking forward to acclimating to the app!
I have a few requests, if that's okay:
- Keywords as a tab: I mainly used "tags" to organize my files in forScore, and migrated those to the "keywords" metadata field before importing to Mobilesheets (shoutout to JeffRochio! https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/f...10309.html). I would like "keywords" as a tab, but it is not selectable under "Tab selection and Order". Would it be possible to implement?
- Batch editing: I tried to work around the above by selecting all files with a keyword and copying it to the custom field instead. Problem is, as soon as there is more than one keyword in the field you can't batch edit without changing all the keywords. Would it be possible to implement the option to add a keyword to a batch, without editing existing data?
- Mobilesheets companion crashes with large amounts of files: I had to split my 6k files library into 8 folders in order for it not to crash
Thanks so much for making an amazing app!

I'm on the edge of making the switch. I've just had too many crashes in forScore and sync keeps on mysteriously turning itself off.
One thing I'm wondering: if I buy MobileSheets for iPad, is there any crossgrade discount available if I later change to an Android tablet?

Personally, I find "collections" more useful than keywords for sorting and organizing. You can assign as many collections as you want and filter accordingly. Can you give an example of how you used tags? I use collections to group instruments, parts, bands, keys, sets of book types (fake books, methods, reference), etc. For example, I'll have a collection for a certain band and part which I can then filter by when building set lists.
I think I have over 10k files at the moment, but I've never used the companion to manage them. I'm not entirely sure what companion does TBH.

No, you have to pay full for each platform.
But since cross platform is a major benefit, requiring very high maintanance by Mike (as single developer), the price being really not that high but one time with no abo and you can use multiple devices when you use the same account it is a *very* fair offer. I happily paid for all platforms and I'm considering to buy the e-ink version as well.

devota,
Due to the way the keywords field works (it's just an open text field where anything can be entered), trying to create a tab for that just won't work, as it's not handled like the other group types. So that's really not going to be an option.
As far as batch editing, that's something that's been requested a fair amount and it's absolutely something I need to change (and soon).
As far as the crash, I've struggled to reproduce that (as I tested importing 20000 files at once and had no issues). So I haven't figured out yet why it becomes a problem for some users. I still need to investigate this more.

Mike Hi Mike
Good to know about keywords, I'll see if I can't have the script migrate the keywords to another field.
Looking forward to the batch-editing update
The companion crash seemed to have a chance of happening when the largest files like realbook were being imported, don't know if that helps. Also using windows 10 still, don't know if that's it.
Another weird quirk i discovered after importing setlists: All my scores with ", " in the title has been changed to "," for some reason. I checked the files on the ipad, and the title is correct there, so it must have happened somehow during import in companion app or in the transfer to iPad.
Thanks again for an awesome app! Looking forward to having the habits down when using it!

I suspect you have the Import setting for Title as "Guess Title from Filename" rather than "Use Filename as Title"
Note: the Companion, if you use it, also has it's own settings

Okay, since I gave all my files metadata 'title'-fields, i thought mobilesheets would use that as title with the "Extract metadata from files" when importing, but i guess it doesn't? It's still weird, that the "guessing" removes the space before commas, since i find title names like "Bach, prelud in C" or something pretty common?

I'll certainly have to look into that to see if the algorithm is stripping spaces after commas.
