Hi,
I've been using MobileSheets on Windows for a long time and recently tried to set it up on my MacBookAir (using the iOS/iPadOS version from the App Store). I used the cloud sync via OneDrive to transfer my library. The song list synced perfectly – all 400 titles are there – but when I try to open any PDF, I get the error message:
"The file [path] does not exist."
Just a few files work (50 out of 450).
After some investigation I found the following issues:
1. The file paths stored in the database point to a OneDrive path including a long cryptic folder name, for example:
/Users/XXXX/Library/Containers/FB6F334B-6DF1-4DE6-9056-855D04F7A14F/Data/Documents/XXXX/(#b#)b!SV94LOMM50eIxTOvj-.../Bach, BWV 868, Wohltemperiertes Klavier I, Präludium und Fuge H-Dur.pdf
2. The Mac version (iPad app running on Mac) stores files inside the app sandbox container. There is no option to change the storage location, unlike the Windows version.
3. Out of ~450 songs, only about 50 PDFs were actually copied into the container's Documents folder. The remaining ~400 PDFs either weren't transferred at all or ended up in deeply nested subfolders with the cryptic OneDrive path as the folder name.
4. After manually copying the remaining files in the folder more files are working, but not all, some remain due to the cryptic folder names...
The sync between Windows and Android works perfectly – this issue seems specific to the Mac/iOS version due to Apple's sandbox restrictions and the way file paths are handled during cloud sync.
My setup:
- Source: MobileSheets on Windows
- Target: MobileSheets (iPad/iOS app) on Mac
- Sync method: OneDrive
Is there a recommended workflow for syncing from Windows to Mac?
