Error connecting to Companion
#1
I am unable to connect my Android tablet to my iMac. I don't have any antivirus software, and MobileSheets is allowed in the firewall list. In iOS, I don't see the option to check the ports. The error message indicates "You can also manually connect under the file menu," but where is this menu? Did I miss something?

Hi

I also can't connect after updating the companion app to version 4.1.10; I get the same message.
I'm really in a bind

Thanks.

That's a mistake carried over from an earlier version. That should say the "Connection" menu (Connection->Manual WiFi Connect). That probably won't help if the connection is failing though. Did you make sure to reboot both devices and the router to rule out any problems of that sort? I just connected 4.1.10 running on my Mac Mini to my Android tablet and it worked fine. So I don't think there are any issues with the companion app (and I did not change any of the connection code). Definitely verify that you've granted the companion app permission to access the network on your Mac device.

The connection only works in manual mode. Yet, the IP number is correct in automatic mode…

Since they said they hadn’t made any changes, I reinstalled the companion app, and it connected automatically. I was also able to connect manually.

At present, I am able to connect, but the programme often freezes. I then have to force quit and start again. My configuration is as follows: iMac with M3 chip and OS Tahoe 26.3.1.

I'll need to know what specific actions lead up to a freeze occurring, as I've never seen that.

Thanks,
Mike

After opening a score to check its settings, when I click on Cancel, Companion often freezes at that moment.CompanionCompanion
