[Cerio]

Hi, I've never liked the format, but just started experimenting with Chord Pro in Mobilesheets. 

It looks like the transposing feature (wich works perfectly well in other CP readers) doesn't work well in MS, or maybe it's just I'm doing something wrong. 

An example, this song is in the key of D (first chord Em), but when copying the text into a new MS song (vía copying and pasting the code in the internal editor) the program identify the song as it was in the key of Em and from that moment, I can't, for the life of me setting the song in the key of D while showing the right chords (first chord Em). 

Anyone can explain how to do it?

OK, it looks that adding {Key: D} solves the problem and it's a field required by MS to work properly, am I correct?

How would MS possibly know the key if you don't specify it? It's unreasonable to expect otherwise.

There is a "Detect Key By" setting under Settings->Text File Settings that is used if a key is not specified. It's always better to specify the key using the {key:} directive if possible though.

a) By automatically figuring out the key (in fact the key was automatically set to Em, as described above)
b) By using the Edit > Transpose feature (I was expecting this was the right way to manually set the key signature)
c) By reading the metadata

Thanks, Mike didn't know about this. It looks like option is activated by default (in fact it cannot be deactivated, and the key set to dthe default C / Am), and, IMO, this can be confusing if you're not aware of this.

a) Since the detected key was wrong, I'd say it really can't do this. It doesn't do any more than use the first chord. There is no functional analysis happening. 
b) Transpose from the wrong key to another wrong key?
c) {key} IS the meta data.
