Pasting snippet into a layer
#1
If I snip a section of the score and paste it somewhere else it seems to modify the original PDF. Is there a way to paste into one of the annotation layers so the pasted section can be hidden and displayed by turning the layer on and off.
(We have a cellist who often can't make it so it can help to paste some of the cello part into the piano part to partially cover the cello part in sections where the piano just has rests.)

Unfortunately, no, as the way the pasted images work is they are saved in the underlying file, and not in the database. I did not want to bloat the database by saving raw image data in it, as then it could explode in size very quickly. What you could do is place a white rectangle on top of the pasted image, and that could be in a layer that you show or hide. That would mostly accomplish the same goal unless the pasted images are covering parts of the page that you want to be able to see.
