I would also like to be able to sync with a local folder, and have the location remembered by the app so that it doesn't have to be selected each time.

This would make it much easier to work with local folders that are automatically synced by a third-party service (such as Syncthing, Box, or Sync) without having to code individual API support for each service in MobileSheets.

I imagine that this might be easy enough to implement that it could be done before the very large update planned for 3.10.0.

@ Administrator: i'm using MobileSheets on my tablet since some months. Great software! I'm thinking about to buy the windows version, too.
But i was very surprised that syncthing via WebDav (e. g. Nextcloud) is not supported.
I'm sure, that the developers have a lot of work. But in 2025 WebDav should be a basic. I've read, that in version 3.10 it may be supported.
Can you give more exact info?
I will not buy the windows version, if it's not sure, that WebDav will be supported within this year.

Quite a lot of code is necessary to support any additional cloud service, and even more will be necessary to support a generic protocol/interface like webDAV. It's on my list, but I can't say exactly when it will be implemented, but I'd like for it to be added in the first half of the year. There's too many variables for me to say exactly when it will be implemented, as lots of different users are all asking for different things.

In theory, I can leverage the "Sync to a cloud folder" code and just add a local folder as one of the options, and then I just have to add some new methods to handle the file I/O for a local folder. The biggest problem is just dealing with the file permissions on Windows and iOS related to this (and Android for users that did not grant the all files access permission), but that's nothing that I haven't had to deal with before, so it shouldn't take too much extra code. So to answer your question, no, it's not nearly as much code and is probably something that I can support in the short term.

Please focus on the local sync first. That would be easier for you and open up many options to power users in the meantime

With WebDAV support wanting to get added after that. I am trying to move out of Google drive and the other non private clouds and need WebDav to make that happen, for Nextcloud,  owncloud etc.

Work is underway on this (I have a developer helping work on this part time). He has made solid progress, so it's possible the WebDAV support could be available near the end of the year, or early next year.

He is working on webDAV support, and is starting with nextCloud I believe. The design should allow for support for any webDAV based service (in theory). Supporting pCloud is certainly on the list.

If synching to a local folder is possible, we also have a way to synch to Nextcloud. It's just a folder under Android/com.nextcloud.client/nextcloud/<account>/ . It may, however, be tricky to convince Nextcloud to keep the folder synched.
