I am curious why there is a CSV file and an XLS file.  I now know that mobilesheets can import using a CSV file; is the XLS file for importing into some other software, perhaps?

The CSV is for MobileSheets. Good to know: if a column name is unknown (MobileSheets doesn't have a database field for it) MobileSheets just ignores the column. This allows to keep additional columns in a CSV file. I often do that with the starting PDF page of a song (in my files I call it PDFPage, Sciurius calls it startpage in his tools). The starting page is helpful to step through a fakebook page by page to colllect additional info. When done you can easily sort back to alfabetical, that's what I prefer to select single songs for import.

I maintain an additional database outside of MobileSheets that contains also books and songs that I don't import into MobileSheets. I collect data to create CSV, PDF bookmarks and an import file for my private database in an XLS or XLSX file per book. I usually keep this XLS file for later reference and share in the forum together with CSV and bookmarks file, just in case it might be useful for somebody else. E.g. "Kingston Irish Tunebook" is organised in chapters by style like Jig, Air ... and songs are numbered by chapter. I first collected these chapters and page numbers and then calculated "pages" from that, to save some effort. That might be different for other books.
