The flic2 should work fine - just set it up as an HID.

That will only work if that accessory either sends key commands like page up/page down, or volume up/down.

Hi there
The Flic 2 button looks interesting to me and the procedure to get the button working seems not too complicated. Someone mentioned, that there's a lag of 0.5s when using press and double press, e.g. switching to the next page and previous page. Is this still valid? Thanks in advance Franklin

If the button is set up as an HID through the Flic app (look at the Flic site for instructions), then you should be able to treat it like a bluetooth pedal. Go to Settings->Touch & Pedal Settings->Pedal Actions, assign the key for the button to pedal 1, then assign the action to trigger using the dropdown. That's all there is to it. You can assign pedal 2 to the double press if desired. I don't know if there is any way to disable the double press, but that's why there is a lag of 0.5 seconds I'm assuming, as it has to wait to see if you did a double press or a single press.

You know that the cheap Bluetooth remote buttons for cameras which you can buy for about 2-3 € work fine with Android and W10 MSP? I ended up purchasing a Flic 2 button for my Chromebook but was unable to get the app to configure the button. Then I learned that any device can program the button and it will send Bluetooth signals for any other device to pick up. So I installed the app on my phone and used that to configure the button in what Flic calls "Universal" mode. Then I was able to use the MobileSheets procedure for treating it like a Bluetooth pedal and that worked on my Chromebook.

I ordered two flic 2 yesterday and will report back, how the setup works out.

It sounds like you might have experienced the same problem I'm having? I just can't get the Flic button to configure as a universal device via the Flic app on my tablet. I will try doing it on my phone. I always have that on me when i'm using the tablet for music anyway as it controls my hearing aids.

I've now managed to pair the Flic with my tablet and put it into Universal mode by entering DPAD LEFT DPAD UP PAGE UP. I can't remember where I got that from and don't know if it's the right text?? I've tried this before, multiple times, but it's never worked until today, I decided to try leaving out the underscores and commas... Bingo! Flic is now in Universal mode. I've set pedal switch 1 to 'Activate link point or turn page'. Don't know if that's the right action for the text I've entered?
I tried using it on a piece with link points - the Flic is activating but nothing is happening and it flashes orange. Might be bluetooth connection?Interestingly, both ForScore and Newzik are listed as supported apps for pageturning... but not MS

I'll give this a shot. When you connect the Flic button to MobileSheets, you don't need to type anything in the "Keys" field to replace "DPAD LEFT", etc. Instead, when you tap on "DPAD LEFT" (or whatever happens to show up there), simply press your Flic button once and MobileSheets will replace "DPAD LEFT" with the keystroke you configured it for in the Flic app. In my case, I configured a single button press to send the "PAGE_UP" keystroke, and MobileSheets replaced "DPAD LEFT" with "PAGE_UP". Then you just pick whatever action you want from the list. You can even change that action in the future. Just come back to that same page in Settings, tap on the keystroke, and the available action list will pop up. Just choose a different action.
If that is not clear, let me know and I'll take another stab at it.

Many thanks ![]() I haven't typed anything in the "Keys" field in MS. Nothing shows up there. I actually typed "DPAD LEFT" etc as the keyboard command for a single button press in the Flic app in order to set it into Universal mode. I didn't know what text I needed to configure it and the only way I finally got it into Universal mode after failing multiple times, was after removing the underscores and commas. But I don't know if that's the right keystroke command I need or MS to "Activate next link point or turn page up"....?

If you have the flic button configured to send DPAD_LEFT, tap on the keys field for pedal 1, tap clear, then press the flic button. DPAD_LEFT should show up. Tap OK. Please verify that DPAD_LEFT is not also assigned to pedal 2. If it is, tap the keys field for pedal 2, tap clear, then tap OK. Next, select the "Activate Next Link Point or Go to Next Page" action for pedal 1. Then if you press the flic button it will trigger that.

Thank you so much ![]() The only thing that was different was the text that appeared in the keys field when I clicked the Flic, but it is activating the next link as I wanted, so fingers crossed I can now use the Flic! |
