So, to anyone still looking for this function: until this gets added properly, I made this little svg as a temporary solution. It doesn't really work too well, its "clickable" surface is smaller than it should be and it doesn't scale very easily, but it's okay for a quick fix. Edit: Oh, and you use it with the stamp tool, in the "User" section, then select the file with the + sign.

I too would love a single staff, but for me it seems like it would be most useful if it were a "shape" that I could extend to whatever length I need.  No need for clefs, etc.. I would just write in that sort of information, plus, if you're just adding alternate lines, or arrangement ideas to a lead sheet or existing part, the clef, key, and time signature are implied.  Right now I make 5 lines with the shape tool, but it is a little cumbersome and hard to make them even and straight.

A single blank staff with no clef, time or key signature, measure lines, etc would be perfect for my use! I often want to add notes or a line from other trumpet parts where I need to cover for them or just add bits from a D.S or coda when there's a wacky page turn.

+1 to single blank staff - I can add everything I need to it.

I would prefer placement like it is in Forscore. Basically like drawing a recangle - the hight of the rectangle is the spacing between lines and length is just the staff length.
