Is this related to the problem I discovered on my way to a gig today? MS (normal Windows version not the Store thing) tells me it's running 3.9.25 and tells me that .29 is available, which I download, but it comes up as 3.9.32.0, and when I hit Install, it fails with a message that Windows cannot install the package 3.9.32.0_netural_~_kky44xebyat06 because a different package 3.9.25_ netural_~_9fx6hze9e3cne with the same name is already installed. It advises removing package 3.9.25 before installing. (0x80073cf3). Unfortunately, it does NOT tell me how to "remove" such package or even where it is.

Yes it is. It's why you were unable to update. I responded both to your email and other forum post.

What is a "FastSpring" user? I never heard of them, but I run the Windows application. And I didn't get an e-mail about the problem with updating.
I was unable to UNinstall the previous version, but thought I had. Then I ran the installer and got the same message as before about packages needing to be removed. Any clue how I get the uninstall completed? UDPATE: after a hard reboot, a Windows Update (which probably interrupted my Uninstall), and then another Uninstall from Add/Remove, it does appear to be completely uninstalled. I'll now try the fresh installation. OK, everything good. Something seems to delay the complete uninstallation until it's forced a 2nd time.

To clear up my confusion, are ALL Windows versions of MS now "FastSpring?" Who are they?(11-10-2022, 05:17 AM)Zubersoft Wrote: I want to provide a quick update to warn FastSpring customers who utilize the Windows version of MobileSheets about an upcoming issue. In order to distribute the Windows version of MobileSheets through my own store, I have to get a digital certificate which verifies my identity as a publisher. The certificate is issued through a third party company (in this case Sectigo) and has to be renewed every three years. The current certificate expires on November 16th, so I had to get it renewed, but this has caused a nasty issue: the details in the certificate have changed, and I'm unable (so far) to get Sectigo to change the certificate to match the old one. What this means is that, when I go to release a new update for MobileSheets through my FastSpring store, it will appear as if I'm a different publisher, so Microsoft chooses a different installation directory and treats the app as if it's completely new. While I'm still trying to prevent this issue, if I'm unable to get Sectigo to help me, my FastSpring users will have to install the new update, move their library between the two versions (which involves just copying the files from one folder to another) and then uninstall the older version. This is not something I can automate in codat the starte due to the way file permissions work in Windows. Users can also backup their library, uninstall the current version, install the new version once it's released, and then restore the library backup. I will most likely release an update for the FastSpring version warning users about this upcoming issue, and the fact that an automated update will not be possible this time around. I apologize to my FastSpring users for this inconvenience - it's really frustrating that I'm not really able to get help with this issue from either Sectigo or Microsoft, and it's my users who have to suffer as a result. Thanks Mike, sorry to have to deal with this headache.

My FastSpring store is here: https://zubersoft.onfastspring.com/
It's the alternative to the Microsoft Store for obtaining the Android or Windows versions (but it uses a license key instead of an account). FastSpring is the company that handles the payment processing and provides the software that runs the store page. Mike
I appear to have this issue.
After updating MobileSheets through the settings>about page, I get the application not licensed dialog. I originally installed the app from the emailed confirmation link on Nov 22, 2021. I could still access the previously installed app, so I used the license page to unregister the license key. I downloaded the mobilesheets.appxbundle installer and now Windows shows I have the latest version of the app. But when I try to enter the license key, it says I have exceeded the number of registrations for that key. Do I need a new license key? Thanks, Jon
In general, please contact me at mike@zubersoft.com for issues like this and don't post the URL for the installer publicly. It's only for customers who have purchased the app. I have responded to the email you sent.
Thanks, Mike |
